What actually is Theatre Tapas? It's a brand new scratch night for quirky, original and experimental theatre. The next performance of the night! Moving from Israel to the UK, everywhere she goes, she goes with her best friend, the elephant in the room. Sophia Golan - The Elephant And I She moved to the UK at 19, three weeks before the war started. Back there, she had to prove her conscience to a court of soldiers, here, she tries to prove it again to the silent social court of British society. The mission gets heavier every day, as her one loyal friend refuses to leave her back, she walks with her through every door, the elephant in the room. Sophia Golan is an international theatre-maker, working at The Yard Theatre (London), The Old Red Lion Theatre (London), The Gorki Theatre (Berlin), Hamburg Schauspielhaus (Hamburg), and Gesher Theatre (Tel Aviv). Golan have trained with Katie Mitchell in the Theatre Directing MA at Royal Holloway University of London and later has also been her intern on The House of Bernarda Alba (Hamburg Schauspielhaus). Theatre Tapas 4 is on Monday 21st April! First up: Cerulean Blue with [no] good grief! [no] good grief is a participatory performance that implicates the audience in the premature burial of Cerulean (that's me)! It explores themes of death with reverent silliness. As you begin to comfort and mourn the “recently deceased”, you are asked to consider the conditions that have led to their death. Cerulean understands little of itself and tentatively asks that you endeavour to do the same. Upon death their body is to be disassembled and incorrectly labeled as to confuse future archaeologists. We Can't Do This Without You is a night of performances that require a live audience to work. 3 performances, 1 night. Camden People's Theatre. by @theatretapas
