Master’s for Mother’s Day 📜🏫 The road was long but the journey was worth it🛣 Loyola Marymount is a prestigious private university known to have one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, but what I’m very proud of is that I’m graduating DEBT-FREE & that they specialize in urban education & restorative practices. My Master’s degree in Urban Education specializing in Educational Policy & Administration is dedicated to my beautiful momma @maria_g_lopez & my amazing sons who have shared me with academia the past 7 years. Juggling family, children, marriage, teaching, community work, friends, TFA, non profit management, university class/work, bills, self care & life in general was rough… but it was not impossible 🦾 However, we did not get here alone. 45 💐Bday month ‘26 comes to a close but what a life full of love. Not much else to wish for🎂🥹Thank you to EVERYONE. For being in my life & for gifting me a photo gallery & memory full of happiness & supernatural joy. Even on the toughest days, love heals❤️‍🔥Much more to post about bday month & I’m sure I forgot to take pics of some gifts/cards from students & a couple hbd songs, but know that they meant the world to me. Debut of Zickles! Zeuss’ new organic & homemade pickle company 🥒 so proud of my boy, this 11 year old is hustling! Get your jar at his first pop up at @ngbaboxing Friday, September 25th from 6-8pm. Jemma, a recent graduate of the LHS Class of 2025, is a former student leader I had the privilege of advising in a club. She is such a kind, thoughtful, and genuinely sweet person. This weekend, she and her family experienced the heartbreaking loss of her mother, Coco 💔 Jemma and her sister, despite their young ages, loved their mom deeply and cared for her throughout her long battle with a heart condition. Coco was a devoted, hardworking and loving mother. No child should have to navigate a loss like this.

Please help support the Reynoso-Bernal family as they honor the precious life of their beloved Leilani🌸🕊️ Just one week after celebrating her 3rd birthday & after a courageous fight, sweet Leilani gained her wings. Her parents, Chris and Daisy, are not only my coworkers but friends & many students & community members know them through the various school sites they have served.

Leilani was so much more than her illness or diagnosis, she never let it define her. She was a princess warrior, always finding a reason to smile despite the countless therapies, procedures, treatments, and surgeries she endured throughout her young life. Much of her journey was spent in hospital rooms, facing challenges no child should ever have to endure, but if you knew Leilani, you knew a little girl full of joy, love, and light.

I had the incredible privilege of knowing Leilani & spending time with her since she was born. I’ll never forget the first time she smiled when she heard my voice, it was an emotional moment that I’ll never forget 🥹 She is now a precious angel watching over her loving parents & her cherished twin sister, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

During this unimaginable time, the Reynoso-Bernal family is planning farewell services & would be deeply grateful for any support you are able to provide. Instead of a GoFundMe, they have chosen to have any contributions sent directly to Chris and Daisy through the Venmo and Zelle information provided.
