Episode 70: Katherine Manuel on How the Lord Delights in YOU! (Fighting Legalism)💌

“You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,” Isaiah 62:4.

Katherine and I have had some truly life-giving conversations about breaking free from legalism and stepping into the freedom that the cross offers. For so long, I lived as if I had to earn Christ’s approval—forgetting that the standard has already been met in Him. Katherine has been on a similar journey, learning to believe, deep down, that the Lord delightsin her—not because of what she does, but because of who she is in Christ!!!!!

Each time we talk about this, I walk away wishing I could bottle it up or hit record just to listen again and again. And really, what better reason to have a podcast???!!! My hope is that this conversation brings freedom, conviction, and a fresh reminder of God’s grace!!!

Katherine is wise, thoughtful, and has walked through this herself—she speaks from deep experience.

We get into her life as a teacher and how to be intentional with co-workers and work with excellence as worship to the Lord. We also get candid about overcoming anxiety at work and bringing it to the Lord’s feet as well as finding peace through the power of prayer. IT’S BACK !!!!! After a short break, I am so excited to bring Authentic back and eager to see what the Lord does with this next chapter !!! Our first full episode back is a GOOD one and a long one to make up for lost time !!! My dear friend and mentor Emily Fletcher gave us at the honor of sitting down and sharing her pregnancy, birth and NICU journey. She gives us the gift of vulnerability and all of her emotions and feelings during such challenging times and also how she still felt and saw the Lord’s goodness in the face of such adversity. In this episode we chat about the fear of having a high-risk pregnancy, the devastation of having a child in the NICU for such a long time and how to love friends well through trauma. Funny story !!! Anabelle and I had planned to record a podcast together back in August but because of an anxious spiral, we had to push it back. But praise God because now she is back for her to share what the Lord has taught her through this extra anxiety- filled season! His timing is always so much better than ours, and this isn’t even a topic we planned to talk about. So thankful for this raw, real and vulnerable conversation. Anabelle has such a beautiful way of talking about topics like mental health in a way that puts you at ease and can make you laugh.
