#tbt - sometimes my job as an editor can dovetail nicely with my interests as an artist. This is a project I was thankfully asked to do for work, which allowed me to incorporate my techniques using the modular and max/msp. It's a pretty even blend of manual editing and modular sequence randomization. The bassline is also from the modular and most of the drum samples come from @edison_______________________

Almost forgot the 2nd half of my segment for Travoltathon! Wait for it. Just kidding. It's more of the same.

This is part 1 of a little thing I did for a little thing called Travoltathon. Triggering layers of "How Deep Is Your Love" with a little bit of "Sandy" in there. Thank you @boilingsky for having me! I'll post pt 2 a little later on.

I ported Tessela, an ingenius rhythm generator and M4L device developed by @p__meyer , over to the monome Crow - with the help of Claude of course. I've been really enjoying Tessela within Ableton and it occurred to me this would be awesome within the modular. Through the process a learned about composer / filmmaker Clarence Barlow, the designer of the core algorithim. I need to see his films! I listened to a conversation with him about his film work. He's clearly an artist after my own heart.
.
.
Crow is running two instances of Tessela. Outs 1 and 3 send triggers while 2 and 4 output velocity voltages. Input 1 takes the clock signal and input 2 randomizes the parameters when it receives a trigger. I tuned the random ranges to my liking. The two drum sounds are created using Rings and a sine wave oscillator. Digitakt adds support with a sparse beat and VhikX drops the intemittent melodic hits. Looking forward to more experimentation!

I know The Dude hates the Eagles, but this song does kinda tie the room together.

"Hotel California" remade using moments from The Big Lebowski.

A huge thank you to the @SecretMovieClub for having me perform this and other Lebowski sets live for their Big Lebowski screening afterparty. It was far out, man.

I'm excited to say that this Saturday night I will be performing live on the 5th floor of the Palace Theater in Los Angeles! I will be performing 3 short Big Lebowski sets in the very same location where they filmed Maude's art studio in the film. This is for an afterparty to a screening of the film put on by the @secretmovieclub taking place on the first floor in the Palace Theater. It is an absolute honor to be a part of. A real bucket list for me and also a reminder that sometimes - you just gotta send that email out.

I saw from @amysedaris that today is Phillip Seymour Hoffman's heavenly birthday. One of the greatest. And any excuse to post this old patch featuring him in one of my favorite roles. the best!

A patch from the weekend. I added these clips last minute on a whim and they just happened to be in key. Love when that happens.

"Creep" by Radiohead played with clips from The Big Lebowski. I have been playing with Lebowski clips for so long, organizing them, grouping them, labeling their pitch, that I pretty much have every note on the keyboard. What other song should I make Lebowski do?
