Meet the Cast!

Jonathan C Beckas aka “JC” is an actor/stuntman who was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where he started his acting and stage combat career at the age of 15 in Pittsburgh Musical Theater. He landed his first professional role as Samuel in “A Pirates Tale” while also taking on the role of assistant fight director. In 2018 he moved to New Jersey to become a knight at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament, where he performed for 7 years. In 2022, JC set out to train in more stunts such as high falls, fire burns, and wire work at the International Stunt School of America. He has also been involved in multiple Society of American Fight Directors workshops throughout the years, learning various weapon forms such as rapier, dagger, sword & shield, quarterstaff and more. In the summer of 2025, he stepped into the role of a pirate once more at Lake Compounce’s premier show “Splashbucklers” produced by Mirage Entertainment. JC would like to thank Brooklyn Action Theater for giving him this exciting opportunity to make his debut at the NYC Fringe Festival this spring.

According to JC, the best part of House of Waffle is “when the fights are at peak chaos.”

Meet the Cast!

Caelen Mahoney is a Jersey-born artist with vivacious enthusiasm and bold determination fueled by mocha lattes. Mahoney’s performing arts journey flew her to Los Angeles to study musical theatre. There, she received training in voice, acting, dance, and earned certifications in unarmed stage combat and theatrical firearms. She is a 2nd Dan Black Belt in The Kwan Do who is excited to mesh her Martial Arts training with her stage combat work. When not on stage, Mahoney can be found teaching voice lessons, discovering new coffee shops, or chilling with her cat, Melody.

According to Caelen, the best part of House of Waffle is the sword fight, stating that she “…loves getting to show my character’s style and power through the whole scene.”

Meet the Cast!

Logan was born in Pittsburgh PA, and studied acting at Syracuse University. His most recent credits are One Way Ticket at the Chemnitz ECC Festival in Germany, Kiln at the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival, and Kiln at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. From the beginning, he loved movement and physical theatre, and is grateful to BAT for giving him the opportunity to dig into his passion. He also thanks his parents Suelynn and David, his girlfriend Kaitlyn, his brother Luke, and his cat Cosmos.

Logan studied fencing in middle school, Shaolin Kung Fu through high school, and dabbled in the internal Chinese martial arts (Tai Chi, Bagua, Xingyi) in college. While at Syracuse, he apprenticed for his Stage Combat professor, Felix Ivanov. According to Logan, the best part of the show “has to be our second fight, with the comedic professional wrestling elements. Fighting with spatulas and checkbooks makes me think of a Jackie Chan movie every time.”

Meet Josie Wright!

Josie is an NYC-based actor/writer/comedian who is thrilled to be making her BAT debut! She graduated from NYU Tisch '24 where she received training from the Atlantic Acting School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Apart from acting, you can catch her doing stand-up and/or jay-walking.

Josie’s stage combat journey began in 2023 when she earned her broadsword certification from BASSC. We asked her what her favorite part of the show was and she said, “There is a very cool 2-on-1 sword fight that I'm always excited to watch.”
