Major shout out to our girl @sshorterbrand for magically transforming spaces in only the way she can ❀️❀️❀️ Our team is SUPER CREATIVE. We had a vision or three that all came together into the beautiful Poetic Justice Café. Would you believe it was transformed in 6 hours? It started with one art piece by Brother Omar (The Afro Pick), which sparked the idea for additional pieces on the walls from our art show. Then Sherese rolled in the furniture with her special eye for decor and the magic began. We added some final touches like @ilovechrissy_ 's dining table where we fed your soul with affirmations on fine china. @thekarynetinord 's beautiful braided art pieces adorned the space, our never used Juneteenth wall and window decals were put to use and @thetawanashorterproject @simonalaflora plants decorated the space and tables bringing more life while @letsconverse added accent pieces like candles and countertop glassware from @target. We even served Karyne's Homemade Cornbread and lemonade to Café guests. It was a masterpiece and the community loved it. One day we will have DA SPOT CAFE for open mic nights, lounging and co-working, but for now it was pretty amazing to have a taste of the future ☺️❀️ Speaking curated spaces and activations for corporate events into existence πŸ‘ˆπŸΎβ€οΈ Thank you @citypointbklyn for providing us additional space to activate and trusting our vision πŸ₯° #Repost @sshorterbrand I can not express my gratitude enough for my big cousin Tawana @simonalaflora for introducing me to Michelle @yesiam_michellec @daspotnyc I love you ladies beyond wordsπŸ₯°πŸ™πŸΎ A million thanks for always making sure that @sshorterbrand is a part of any event that the @daspotnyc is involved in at @citypointbklyn This past weekend was nothing shy of prolificπŸ™ŒπŸΎ I think it’s safe to say I/we nailed this Poetic Justice CafeπŸ’…πŸΎ Big thanks to Karen @thekarynetinord Chrissy and my girl Joanne @_entremets_ πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜ among the other amazing ladies and gents in this group. Black History Month may be over via the calendar, but every day we celebrate. With Women's Month up we are honoring our Queens who made beautiful things happen during this past weekend. We hope you had a chance to enjoy our Conrows and Cornbread Activation on Sat led by @thekarynetinord and hair model @Toriwillz. Attendees had the chance to learn the art of painless braiding while conversing about the evolution of hairstyles in Hip Hop. Top it off with some homemade Cornbread made by Karyne herself.
