This Thursday!
@thebigdumbhick (Jeff Wall)
joins us at @nomad.listening.room
7pm Thursday Sept 24 @nomadwineworks
.
A solo acoustic performer with a background in Bluegrass and Roots music, Singer-Songwriter-Storyteller Jeff Wall, aka the Bigdumbhick, lays down a groove so strong that it could break your Grandma’s hip. At 6’7”, and somewhere around 300lbs, he is an exceptionally large, and darkly hilarious entertainer, a giant bear of a man who loves naps, dogs, and stealing the occasional unattended picnic basket. Settling in the Winston-Salem, NC area following a 20-year Navy career, he can often be found wandering aimlessly throughout the Southeastern United States in a pair of stained bib-overalls with a beat-up Martin guitar spreading joy and laughter and leaving a trail of crumbs everywhere he goes. by @thebigdumbhick

Music By Pals: Jeff Wall goes by @thebigdumbhick Big? Yes. Dumb? No. Hick? Of course. Jeff saved up his songs and his dough and sought professional help for his new record and they got the treatment they deserved. Seek this record out where you get music. That’s BIGDUMBHICK one word. #musicbypals #bigdumbhick taken in Clinton Hill by @thebigdumbhick

Nashville. WMOT 89.5 fundraiser. Shawn Camp Band.
Shawn Camp - guitar, vox
Ashby Frank - Mandolin, bg vox
Michael Bub - bass
Hunter Berry - fiddle

Listen to Shawn doubling the fiddle parts on guitar. Hunter had never played with the band before this. Bub is a Rock, and Ashby is a monster. Visiting Nashville is a humbling experience for a musician. The caliber of musicians in this town is so insanely high that it blows my mind. I cant compete, at least not on a musician level. My strength lies in being an entertainer. I need to remember that. Keep working on becoming a better picker, but just remember your an entertainer.
