TzAR: Pixel Art Anthology has two main goals: to showcase the extraordinary diversity of approaches to the pixel art medium, and to celebrate an exciting cross-section of the Tezos art community. Featuring more than fifty artists from all around the globe and a Foreword by @pocobelli, this colorful crash course through the pixel art underground is published in a limited edition of 200 copies and is available for pre-order now from The Blasted Tree's website. TzAR: Pixel Art Anthology officially drops on August 12 and pre-orders are already rolling out the door, so grab a copy while you can! In Die Workbook, Neil Surkan presents a new poetic form that uses six-sided die to determine combinations of words and lines in the composition of six-line poems. Playful yet existential, these poems will have you meditating on death, legacy, and the chance operations of nature/god/earth/life/suffering/holiness. Join us for an evening of celebration for the release of Kevin Stebner's Inherent, including a discussion with Stebner about the book and concrete poetics as well an exhibition of some of the original letraset concrete poetry pieces that made up the book.

Typography broken down into its most basic (and beautiful) forms to reveal the inherent voice within each shape.

Inherent is a collection of concrete poems that uses poetic tools to reduce words and letters and characters to their structural components, celebrating the shapes we’re used to taking for granted. Produced by physically scraping each letter onto the page using Letraset sheets—a process of tangible transference that requires irrevocable choice—this is a poetry of format that plays with aspects of form and design to demonstrate each typeface’s individual poetic stance.

Sitting somewhere between Hanjorg Mayer’s Futura and Johanna Drucker’s concrete poetics, with a hint of punk DIY zine culture and a heavy study of typographic graphic design, Inherent moves with palindromic rotational symmetry, arrays of potential landscapes, and alien languages where the Roman alphabet goes supernova into brilliant new forms. taken in Shelf Life Books by @theblastedtree

Game Genie Poems takes the limited set of letters available in the Game Genie cheat code cartridge to its poetic extreme. Selecting only from words compatible with the code entry system, Stebner has crafted a collection of poems that treat topics as diverse as politics, gastronomy, sex, and literary formalism with rigorous precision and ribald humour. This volume presents photographs of Stebner’s code words entered into the Game Genie interface alongside textual versions to give readers an idea of the laborious process, not only of composing these poems, but of entering them letter-by-letter into a 1980s video game console.
