I think of Burke’s definition of man a lot. How we use symbols to create meaning… correctly / incorrectly. So many use the esoteric or religion to derive a sense of purpose. We crave certainty more than ever, we have it less than ever.

We are always striving to encapsulate the human experience in words. Musicians do this to an even greater extent. Sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously. All of it seems insufficient, yet an attempt to touch the great Unknown… God… etc.

Many moons ago, I worked for the Pumpkins. When you know people for decades, they change. We change. We all have our own eras. Sometimes we out grow people and sometimes we all grow along the same path.

I must say, this is one of my favorite eras of Billy and Jimmy. Also, James who I never really knew… is such a mood and very delightful. The band has never sounded better. Also lovely to see our friend @jackbass89 who we all sang happy birthday to… and to meet @kikiwongo who is so perfectly rock n’ roll for the band.

I love to see friends locked in and enjoying the artist’s path… choose art. choose life.
