By now, you will have heard that our beloved studio, Create In Us, is closing. The decision did not come lightly, but did come easily. We simply knew in our hearts that it was time to close. Once the decision to close was made, I felt a small wave of the unknown- how will I continue to create? Art has always been important to me. I’ve been creating in some form or fashion since I was a little girl sitting at my grandmother’s knee as she instructed me in all her ways. After prayer, the answer came quickly. I am so pleased to tell you that The Blue Ridge Bishop, my clothing and lifestyle brand founded at Create In Us, will continue to live on. The idea is still formulating, as plans are being written, measurements taken, and inventory orders placed, but you can expect a warm early spring welcome at my new studio space on Shadowbrook Road in March. I’m so inspired by artists, crafters, and antique dealers who curate spaces on their own properties. This is the ideal next step for me and one I loving call My Homestead Era. If you follow The Blue Ridge Bishop, you’ll know we are rooted in Blue Ridge nostalgia, heritage, and faith. We blend artistry, homesteading, and spiritual warmth. We hope to speak to people who long for simplicity, beauty, peace, and meaning. You can expect original art and crafts, fresh eggs, goat milk soaps, candles, favorite books, clothing, seasonal desserts, and flowers. There will also be a section for vintage and antique finds. I hope to host gatherings, workshops, and markets throughout the year. God is good. He has implanted heritage in my heart and through my love of art, He has allowed me a channel that it may flow through. For ten incredible years, I had the honor of teaching and creating in a beautiful studio on Main Street in Mount Holly. As that chapter closes for me, another one opens- The Blue Ridge Bishop. I will be channeling my teaching, creating, and curating into this space that I hold so dear. Named for my maiden name and the mountains where I grew up, the BRB is all about heart- art, faith, and the beauty of a simple, grounded life. I’m so glad you’re here for this next season.
