❤️ I thought it was time to introduce myself and share the story behind The Book Booth. 📚

Hi, I’m Tiffany! 👋 The steward behind The Book Booth. I’m a wife, a mom, a people-first leader, an avid reader, and a grieving daughter. ❤️

Today marks six months since I unexpectedly lost my dad, the man who inspired this little library.

My dad wasn’t an avid reader, but he loved books, the library, and how much I loved to read. He never hesitated to buy me a book or take me to the library. But my favorite memories are the countless evenings he spent beside me on the couch after a long day of work, patiently teaching me how to read.

No siblings, no distractions. Just my dad and me. And somewhere in those quiet evenings, my love of reading began. ❤️

Losing the man who always made me feel safe, who taught me kindness, patience, and the importance of giving to others has been devastating. Through countless tears, and heartache I wanted to find a way to turn my grief into something meaningful. Something that would honor him while giving back to our community.

And that’s how The Book Booth came to be. 📚

I don’t have pictures of those evenings when he taught me to read, but I have videos of my daughter reading him one last book just days before he passed. A full-circle moment I’ll cherish forever. 🥹

We’ve only been open a little over a month, but this little library has already brought so much joy and connection during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Thank you, Dad, for teaching me to read, for shaping the woman I am today, and for inspiring me to share that love of reading with others.

Every book that finds a new home through The Book Booth carries a little piece of your legacy. ❤️

✨ ONE MONTH OF THE BOOK BOOTH! ✨

One month ago, I took the grief that was consuming my soul and I opened The Book Booth in loving honor of my dad and I never could have imagined the love this little library would receive. 🥹📚

📖 223 books donated + scanned

💙 44 Facebook followers
🏡 New neighbors, new book friends, and new connections with some amazing people doing good in our community

The numbers are fun, but the connections mean the most. Thank you for every book, visit, follow, message, share, and bit of support. 💛

One of my favorite parts of having The Book Booth has been finding little ways to support the people doing good right here in our community. 🤍

Our neighbor started C’s Village, a local nonprofit helping moms and families with essentials like clothing, diapers, wipes, postpartum items, baby gear and more.

Rain is in the forecast tonight! 🌧️📚 So naturally, our extra books got a little upgrade! 😂

Our new (slightly more rain-friendly) book bin is out and stocked with some fresh finds, thanks to our sweet neighbors behind us and a few books from our smallest steward’s personal collection! 🥹💚

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has stopped by The Book Booth, given books new homes, and generously dropped off donations! 🥹💚 We appreciate you all so much!

With this beautiful weather today, I couldn’t resist putting out an extra box of books! You’ll find some additional reads, children’s books from our wonderful donors, and even some cookbooks! 👩‍🍳📖

I’ll be looking for a better way to display our extra books soon, preferably one that doesn’t require everyone to bend down so far! 😅

We’re only halfway through banned book week, and so many of our banned (and not-so-banned 🤭) books have already found new homes!

It’s been almost one month since we opened The Book Booth in honor of my dad, and I’m completely wowed by this book community.

I’ve loved connecting with other Little Free Libraries, readers, authors, reviewers, and fellow book lovers! Especially discovering so many new books along the way. 💛

Thank you for supporting, encouraging, and cheering on this little library. What started as a way to honor my dad has brought so much connection and joy.
