A lot of adults believe kids don’t go through anything if they’re not paying bills. I’ll be the first to admit I used to be one of those parents, not even considering that when I was a kid, I struggled with my mental health, anxiety, and depression.

I am so glad that The Most High GOD has taken me on this journey and given me responsibility over Wealth Wave Publishing. It all makes sense. This company is connected to my purpose.

I know we go through our own problems as adults but we still must tend to our kids mental health. I’ve learned part of doing that effectively is healing ourselves so we can be better for them.

My dad was shot and killed at 33 years old when I was an 11-year-old boy. I was also 33 years old when I got shot in 2024, but I survived. I saw how me being shot scared my kids more than it scared me. Their mother told me how they reacted when they heard the news. The difference is my kids still have a dad here on earth to show them how to keep their mental healthy as they can.

I wanna live long enough to see all my grandkids become men and women of honor one day. Contributing members of society.

Long story short, don’t forget to be there for the kids mentally and emotionally. Even though they don’t pay bills and deal with adult problems like we do, they still go through things that your love, kindness, and attention could help them get through.

Because mental health issues aren’t reserved for adults only.

How many of your limits were handed to you by somebody else?

“You’re too old.”
“That won’t work.”
“People like us don’t do that.”
“That’s not realistic.”

Or maybe they never said a word. You remember the look on their face when you trusted them enough to share your vision.

The raised eyebrow. The uncomfortable silence. The little laugh before they realized you were serious.

And you walked away questioning something you were excited about five minutes earlier.

People can love you and still struggle to imagine a life beyond what they’ve experienced. Listen to their concerns, but examine them before you turn them into your limits.

Some advice can help you prepare. Some advice just passes fear from one person to the next.

Before you abandon your dream, make sure you’ve given it more than a conversation. Give it effort, a plan, and a fair chance.
