This is the BookSmiths Shoppe. Danbury’s Independent Bookstore. We’re so happy you found us. Haven’t been here yet? Turn by turn directions on our website… link in bio — we’re here at the Summit in Danbury, a multi use space with residential, corporate, retail and service businesses. We are really proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last three years and while we are off the beaten path you’ll feel like you’ve walked into something very special and unique…. We sell new and used books, over 50,000 books and we have a gift shop. We welcome everyone, our store is also handicapped accessible and there’s tons of free parking here. Happy 25th to our daughter Cassie! We are celebrating in the center of the universe… NYC, Greek restaurant which I have to say is absolutely amazing 🤩… I think I’m Greek in a former life tbh. It is a luxury to be able to open your windows and have fresh air blowing through your house. I love my two boys, but this is absolutely necessary - they’re not on the couch because I sprayed it with white vinegar. Not their favorite scent. Lol taken in Ridgefield, Connecticut by @thebooksmiths

Kate Katcher is a talented writer, actress, director, and award-winning playwright who has called Newtown, Connecticut, home for nearly 30 years. A former Broadway performer, Kate is also the artistic director of Stray Kats Theatre Company. Her debut novel, 36, was adapted from her award-winning play of the same name.

Set in the summer of 1984, 36 introduces readers to the Weiss family and its devoted matriarch, Maxine, a woman who has spent her life holding everyone together.

But when her eldest daughter decides to forge her own path, Maxine’s carefully balanced world begins to unravel.
