We had a cute morning in #alpineAZ showing some homes. Then grabbed lunch at @little.pinkhouse in Eager. Absolutely loved their food and whole vibe. I may be moving in soon.

1 year.

One thing I’ve learned about grief is that it never gets “easier.” You just learn to live in a world where they no longer exist. The grief sits in your chest and becomes a new normal.

I’ll never forget this horrific day. I remember hearing the sirens through the night and waking up to the news that 2 firefighters had lost their life. I remember selfishly praying it wasn’t Brenna. I remember the sinking feeling I got and rushing to text her. I remember the moment I found out and how it brought me to my knees. I remember when they brought her home. I remember the bagpipes and last alarm. Losing someone so quickly after becoming friends has left me feeling angry and cheated all year. But…

God is good. And Brenna LOVED the Lord. And I find peace in knowing she’s in His precious arms. And I find ways to honor her memory in little things…. And in big. She was an incredible mother and loving wife. She was a selfless part of this community. She was honest and vulnerable and incredibly FIERCE!! The gift I get from knowing all of these things about her is trying my best to carry those traits into my daily life. I will never forget the impact you left on my life, B. by @thebrediaries
