POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
For the last few years, our buyers have been asking us the same question:

"Have prices stopped falling in Toronto?"

That was the right question for a while, but it's not the right question this fall.

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) released the August stats, and they tell a story of prices continuing to drift sideways.

But when we look at the stats in the context of what's happening with interest rates, it gets a lot more interesting. The Bank of Canada held its rate on September 2 and used the word inflation more than the word growth. Long-term bond yields are up. Fixed mortgage rates follow those yields almost point for point, and they have started to climb.

If you've been waiting for prices to drop another few percent before buying, you now need to weigh that against what's happening with borrowing costs.

The Buy Canadian movement has gained serious momentum (and for good reason).

With trade tensions simmering, tariffs back on the table, and an increasingly unpredictable relationship with our neighbours to the south, keeping our dollars in Canada isn't just feel-good patriotism. It's smart strategy. It supports local jobs, strengthens our supply chains, and builds more resilient communities.

But finding out who actually owns a furniture company is like detective work. Structube feels Canadian. So does Mobilia. But try finding clear information about ownership or where their products are actually manufactured? You'll spend hours falling down internet rabbit holes. (ask us how we know.)

If you're furnishing a home in Toronto or the GTA, find your cheat sheet to Buy Canadian at the link in our bio. A stack of lumber stamped “Made in Canada”. Text overlay: The Buy Canadian Challenge. How hard is it to furnish your home with Canadian products? taken in Toronto, Ontario by @thebrelteam

If you're selling in 2026, this is the conversation no one wants to have.

Overpricing feels safe. It feels strategic. It feels like you're "leaving room to negotiate."

In this market, it does the opposite.

Inventory is higher. Buyers are more analytical. And every listing is judged against real-time comparables within seconds. When a home is priced above what the data supports, serious buyers don't engage. They move on.

The cost isn't just extra Days on Market. It's lost leverage in the early window. It's price reductions that become public record. It's negotiating from a weaker position than you needed to.

This isn't about underpricing. It's about precision.

The sellers who win right now are the ones who detach emotion from strategy and price based on what the market will actually respond to, not what they hope it will do.

If you're even thinking about listing this year, let's review your numbers and develop a clear-eyed plan that protects your equity and sets you up for your next move.

A 1,078 sq ft St. Lawrence Market condo that gives you room to live, not just room to sleep, now $ 925,000

Bright, open living spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the suite with natural light, while each space feels distinct without sacrificing the overall open plan.

With the bedrooms positioned on opposite sides of the suite, the layout creates distinct private spaces at either end of the home, while the kitchen and living area naturally become the shared hub in between. It suits couples with different schedules, overnight guests, or families who want more separation without giving up time together.

Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Daniel Libeskind, L Tower has become one of Toronto's defining residential landmarks. Its sculptural, curved form and integration with historic Meridian Hall make it an unmistakable part of the skyline.

Then, just a short walk away, there's your own front door at 186 Borough Dr.

Inside, approximately 19-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a loft-like primary suite give this two-storey condo townhouse serious architectural presence.

With 2 bedrooms plus a den, a compact terrace and two parking spaces, there's plenty to appreciate about coming home, too.

And with Frank Faubert Wood Lot directly across the street, a little green space is always close by.

It offers the convenience of a condominium, with the arrival, volume, and separation of a home that feels distinctly your own.

The location makes everything easier. Frank Faubert Wood Lot is across the street, while Scarborough Town Centre is a six-minute walk away. Albert Campbell Square and its skating rink, Albert Campbell Square Dog Park, the public library and Scarborough Centre subway station are all nearby. The future subway extension is also close by.

At 389 Coxwell Avenue, blonde hardwood floors, crisp white walls and warm wood cabinetry create interiors that feel fresh, relaxed and easy to live in. The open-concept main floor brings the living, dining, and kitchen spaces together, with a generous island that makes cooking and catching up feel like one occasion.

Upstairs, three bright bedrooms offer room to settle in, while the beautifully finished basement adds another comfortable place to spend time. Two full bathrooms, a leafy backyard for summer afternoons, and room to park not one, but two cars off the rear laneway. No more circling the block for a spot after a long day or cursing at the City of Toronto website when your parking pass renewal is due.

Thoughtfully renovated and carefully maintained, this Toronto semi-detached home puts you close to the restaurants and independent businesses of the Gerrard India Bazaar, the green space of Greenwood Park and convenient streetcar and subway connections.

Yonge-Eglinton, or "Yonge and Eg" if you actually live here, is the densest, youngest corner of midtown.

Condo towers stack around one intersection, with a subway station underneath and now an LRT cutting across it, with a surprising number of quiet detached streets a few blocks in either direction.
