🚨 METRO ATLANTA PARENTS, CHECK THOSE BABIES!

On Friday, August 28, the Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed 4 MORE children have measles in an outbreak associated with a metro Atlanta daycare.

Health officials say the four children were close contacts of the measles case confirmed on August 18 and were either unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated. Georgia has now reported 11 measles cases in 2026.

And here’s the part that has parents asking questions: officials have NOT publicly identified the daycare or released its location. 👀 DPH says it is working to identify additional people who may have had close contact with the infected children.

⚠️ WHAT PARENTS SHOULD LOOK FOR:
🤒 High fever
😷 Cough
👃🏾 Runny nose
👀 Red/watery eyes
🔴 Tiny red spots that begin on the head and spread down the body

Symptoms typically show up 7–14 DAYS after exposure. Measles is so contagious that the virus can remain in the air or on surfaces for up to 2 HOURS after an infected person leaves.

DPH says if your child develops possible symptoms, CALL your healthcare provider first — do not just walk into a doctor’s office, hospital or health clinic because precautions need to be taken to prevent exposing others.

A regular grocery run in Cobb County allegedly turned into THIS. 😳🛒🔪

Police say a father was shopping with his wife and five children on Tuesday when they had some type of confrontation with a stranger identified as Pedro Barrera.

Investigators say Barrera walked away, grabbed a knife FROM A STORE SHELF, removed it from the packaging, then came back and allegedly started yelling at the family while holding the knife. 😳

Thankfully, nobody was hurt. 🙏🏾 Police say Barrera was still inside the store and still had the knife when officers arrived.

Barrera was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and five counts of cruelty to children. He was denied bond. 🚔

Police say it’s still unclear what started the confrontation.

You see somebody unwrapping a knife in the grocery store… WYD?! 👀

A U-Haul and a bad plan! 😭🚚

Early Friday morning, August 28, suspects allegedly tried to ram a U-Haul through the front of Luxury Box, a designer clothing boutique in Atlanta’s West Midtown.

But baby, this store was READY. 🚧😂 Manager Trevor White says protective barricades stopped the truck, while a drop-down security gate provided another layer of protection. The suspects never made it inside and ZERO merchandise was stolen. 👏🏾🛍️

The attempted burglary comes after thieves recently used a U-Haul to crash into another Atlanta clothing boutique, Identity ATL, where police say merchandise WAS stolen. A similar U-Haul smash-and-grab also caused thousands of dollars in damage at a Candler Road beauty supply store in January.

Nobody was injured in Friday’s attempt, and Atlanta Police are investigating. 🚔

What happened when that U-Haul met those barricades?! 😭👇🏾
