RUNAWAYMAN out now

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

How long have you stayed in something you know you needed to leave?

My main hope for this album is to inspire young people to take courage and leave the things they feel trapped in. I wrote RUNAWAYMAN as a call to something greater. That’s what the songs on this album have been to me, and I hope it’s what they are to you.

Stream RUNAWAYMAN on Spotify and Apple Music! To help this post, comment a song you go to in your hard days. Support us by liking and sharing 🫶

We are proud to announce our debut album “RUNAWAYMAN” will be yours January 31.

This album was five years in writing, two in production, recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, Macon, Madison, Clinton Mississippi, including @southernstorytelling_institute

We are beyond excited to bring this project to you. Me, Micah, JT, Miana, and Noah have worked as hard as we can to bring you an album that we want you to be a part of. As I’m sending this project to stores, I’m excited to show you and hope you make it yours.

We hope to represent ourselves, our state, and you the best we can in this new project. Thank you to all the friends and family who listened to these songs in their rough forms, came to our small shows, and encouraged us every step of the way. €=

“RUNAWAYMAN” will be everywhere music is sold, January 31. Here we go.

Welcome to The Broken Halos

I began this project with one goal in mind: create art that helps you navigate from darkness to light. That’s what music was for me, a survival mechanism, and an anchor into hope. And that’s what I hope these songs can be, even if just for one person.

We hope we win you over to joining our battle, our journey. A special thank you to all the different musicians who joined us for this first project. I am very proud to present the first official step of the journey: RUNAWAYMAN.

From my soul to yours, Nate Brock

Carry me home after the weather
Home after the storm
Home when I lose the battle
And when my spirit’s torn
Home through the darkness
Home through the light
Home when I know it’s my time to die

Here we go into the thought behind the world of RUNAWAYMAN, Hickory Jones, and the process of making an album set in a fictional place while tapping into real themes. From our short film, Welcome to the Broken Halos. by @thebrokenhalos.band

How many of us have wandered, lost in the fog? No clarity, no direction, no hope. We love the fog. We love its murky morality and blurred lines of right and wrong. It allows us to squint our eyes until we see exactly what we want in the mist.

But is this truly living? Hiding in the night, cloaked in shame, stumbling in the dark. I say no. I say if we love the light the sun shines into our day, then we should remember and anticipate it all the more in the midnight hour, even if we only see its reflection in the dark.

Show me the truth. Words only those willing to run from the life they knew say. Words only those whose life is in ashes say. Words those unsatisfied with a hazy, blurry existence say.

What will you say? Will you love the fog and its exceptions it affords you, or will you seek truth in the night, even when others do not see.

Hey everyone! Wanted to say thank you for all the love some of the illustrations of RUNAWAYMAN have been getting. It’s really cool to see ideas you’ve wrestled with and fought to bring into a coherent form connect with people.

Here are a couple more illustration concepts that didn’t make the cut or are without a carousel narrative. by @thebrokenhalos.band
