Happy 24th Anniversary my love!

Renauld, we’ve been together for 30 years and married for 24 and what a journey it has been. We’ve grown up together, raised a family, built a life, weathered storms, celebrated victories and continued choosing each other through every season.

Marriage isn’t always picture perfect, but the beauty is found in the commitment, the growth, the forgiveness, the laughter and knowing that we’re still standing side by side.

Thank you for being my husband, my partner, my best friend, and my man my man my man… the man I’ve shared damn there my whole life with. After all these years, our story is still being written and I’m grateful that it’s ours.

Marriage Lesson 2: Keep choosing each other.

Falling in love may bring you together, but staying connected requires you to keep choosing each other again and again.

After 30 years together, we’ve learned that choosing one another isn’t just one big decision made at the altar. It’s a series of everyday choices: choosing to communicate, choosing to forgive, choosing to make time, choosing to reconnect, and sometimes choosing to try again after you’ve both gotten on each other’s last nerve. 😂

There will be seasons when love feels effortless and others when loving each other requires more patience and intention. The feelings may shift, but the commitment reminds you that you are still building something together.

A lasting marriage is created when two people continue saying, through their words and actions, “Out of all the options, I still choose us.”

Marriage Lesson #1: Marriage isn’t 50/50 every day.

Some days it may be 80/20, 60/40, or even 90/10. Life happens. One person may be tired, grieving, overwhelmed, pursuing a goal, or simply trying to find their footing again.

After 30 years together, we’ve learned that marriage isn’t about keeping score. It’s about paying attention. When one person doesn’t have much to give, the other may have to carry more for a while.

But here’s the key: both people must be willing to carry the weight when their turn comes. It cannot always be one person doing the heavy lifting.

The goal isn’t equal effort every single day. The goal is mutual commitment, shared responsibility, and keeping the partnership whole through every season. ❤️

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Gwinnett Chamber ELEVATE Business Series, featuring speaker Chris Darley, the Owner/Operator at the Chick-fil-A Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The conversation centered on creating sustainable growth. Not only in business, but also in leadership, relationships, and our personal lives. My biggest takeaway: real success isn’t just about growing bigger; it’s about building in a way that is healthy, intentional, and sustainable.
