I mentor women who are good at their careers and quietly done with what those careers are willing to pay them.

You know her because you might be her. She is the one everyone at work leans on. She says we’re fine and mostly means it, but she is one unexpected bill away from a month she does not want to think about. Teacher, nurse, stylist, realtor, the title changes but the feeling does not.

I am NOT looking for a woman who wants a cute side hustle. I am looking for one who is coachable, who does not disappear the second it gets uncomfortable, and who is ready for something that is actually hers.

I needed something that could actually change the trajectory of our family.

I was tired of watching money come in and disappear. Tired of the stress. Tired of feeling like we were working so hard and still getting nowhere.

So I decided to build something differently.

I found a company that aligned with my faith, my values, and my desire to help people—and I got to work.

Not overnight. Not by luck. And definitely not by sitting back and hoping it would happen.

It worked because I worked.

And now I’m building it again.

And they could’ve been right.
Because like anything else, it takes work.
It’s not a magic business. It’s not a fairy tale paycheck.

It’s choosing it when nobody understands.
It’s leading when nobody was watching.
It’s showing up in the slow seasons.
It’s learning so you can teach others.
It’s choosing your why instead of your excuse.

And man, I’m grateful I did just that 10 years ago.

I loved helping people transform their health and fitness. But I was exhausted by the business model.

I remember finishing a full day of training, driving home completely drained, knowing I still had to get my schedule set for the next day, fill those empty spots, and make sure I had enough clients coming in to keep my income consistent.

And even after working my tail off, there was always that little voice wondering… What if someone cancels? What if a client leaves? Where is the next paycheck coming from?

I wanted to make more money, but I didn’t want to spend another evening away from my family or squeeze one more client into an already full day.

I wanted to be a present mom. I wanted my clients to get incredible support. I wanted to grow without constantly giving more hours of my life.

I needed a different way to build.

All found in the candy our kids bring home tonight.

And yes, we trick or treat. My kids get to fully live it up. 🎃

But when we get home, we go through the candy, pull out a few pieces they really love, and take the rest to the dentist for some cash.

Then we head to the store and pick out some better candy options to keep around for an occasional treat.

Because I don’t believe in making childhood about restriction, or trying to be perfect.

I believe in being informed.

Knowing what’s in the things we consume, understanding that our choices add up, and making conscious decisions about what we bring into our home.

We can let our kids enjoy the fun without making every single thing a regular part of their everyday lives.

For 10 years, I’ve taken this every single day…

and the effect I notice on my mood is NOT what I originally took it for.

For me, building a business has never been only about a paycheck.

It’s about having options.

It’s about being able to work from home, homeschool my girls, and build something that belongs to me while being present for the life happening around me.

I wanted to contribute financially to my family. I also wanted the opportunity to build something bigger over time.

Those things mattered to me then, and they still matter now.

I don’t believe there’s one right version of success for every woman.

But I do believe it’s worth asking yourself what you actually want your life to look like, then looking for ways to build toward it.
