HANDS-ON: TUDOR PELAGOS 39 🖤

Understated, purposeful and seriously wearable. The Pelagos 39 is a brilliant example of how to make a modern dive watch that feels just as at home on land as it does in the water.

The 39mm Grade 2 titanium case keeps things lightweight, while the sunray black dial, ceramic bezel and signature snowflake hands deliver that unmistakable TUDOR tool-watch character.

Inside, the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5400 offers a weekend-proof 70-hour power reserve, with 200m water resistance for good measure. Add the clever T-fit adjustable clasp and an additional rubber strap, and you have a seriously versatile package.

A little Zenith El Primero magic. 🔵⏱️

There’s something special about the Zenith Chronomaster Heritage. The blue dial, vintage-inspired proportions and iconic El Primero chronograph architecture give this piece a character that feels distinctly Zenith.

The reference 03.2150.4069/51.C805 brings together classic chronograph design and one of the most celebrated high-frequency movements in watchmaking — a combination that still feels compelling today.

Some watches are all about the details. Others are all about the feeling. The Cartier Tank Américaine CPCP manages both.

A beautiful example of Cartier’s Collection Privée Cartier Paris era, this circa-2000 reference 1735 pairs an elegant curved yellow-gold case with a classic white dial and hand-wound movement. Understated, distinctive, and full of old-world charm. A reminder of just how special Cartier’s watchmaking can be.

The Black Bay Ceramic takes Tudor’s familiar dive-watch DNA into darker territory, pairing a 41mm matte black ceramic case with a matching full ceramic bracelet and charcoal sunray dial.

BALTIC x SPACEONE — SECONDE MAJEURE

Finally getting hands-on with one of 2026’s most intriguing collaborations.

The Seconde Majeure takes Baltic’s vintage-leaning design language and throws it into SpaceOne territory — sapphire discs, a jumping-hour complication and a wonderfully unconventional approach to reading the time.

At 38.5mm, it wears beautifully, while the exposed architecture gives it plenty to discover. The Charbonné finish is particularly impressive, with each dial taking up to three hours of hand-finishing.

A genuinely interesting piece of French independent watchmaking — and one that looks even better in the metal.

Hands-on: SpaceOne WorldTimer Blue 🌍🔵

Neo-futuristic horology with a distinctly French twist.

The WorldTimer replaces conventional hands with a clever series of rotating discs, displaying local time, 24-hour time and cities through a wonderfully unconventional cockpit-style layout.

Grade 5 titanium, sapphire domes, a Soprod P024 and an in-house WorldTimer complication, all developed and assembled in France.

Limited to just 200 pieces, and at €2,700, this is a seriously interesting proposition for anyone looking beyond traditional worldtimers.

Unusual? Absolutely. But that’s exactly the point.

First impressions: Ricky Hong 「十八旹 | 18 in 18」

There’s something seriously compelling about this one.

At just 18 years old, Hong has created a beautifully restrained dress watch built around a 40.5mm polished case, porcelain enamel dial, elegant leaf hands and a heavily modified 6498 manual-winding movement.

The black and silver combination is particularly good in the metal, while those bullet-style lugs give it a wonderfully vintage character.

18 pieces. 18 years old. One very interesting young watchmaker to watch.

First impressions? This feels like the beginning of something special.

EARLY HANDS-ON — @yuenwatchesofficial Y-01

First impressions: this is seriously impressive.

The abalone mosaic dial is the obvious star, shifting beautifully with the light, but there’s much more to the Y-01 than the dial. The case, sculpted lugs and overall proportions feel incredibly considered.

Ong has done a great job here. There’s a real sense of personality and originality to the Y-01 without it feeling overworked.

One I’m really enjoying spending time with. 👌
