PerfectTed's next product was invented by their customers.

@marisalposter, co-founder of @perfecttedenergy, broke it down for me:

• Blank Street's blueberry matcha went viral on TikTok
• People started recreating it at home
• They were buying PerfectTed matcha, plus blueberry syrup and milk, to do it
• Nobody at the company prompted any of it.

So, the team shipped the one-stop version.

What do you need to do?
Stop building the roadmap in a room. Look at what your customers are already doing with your product, then sell them that. They're vocal. They will tell you.

• Plan scroll-stopping questions into the interview
• Post a mid-length clip on the Wednesday
• Post another on the Friday
• Release the full episode on the Monday

Old way: clips after the episode.
New way: clips that make people want the episode.

The secret behind Modern Wisdom’s growth?

The show was growing slowly.

Then Chris Williamson went on Joe Rogan.

@benhancock98 was there for it:

• The first Rogan appearance, "the Joe Rogan bump"
• Moving to Austin just before everyone else
• Thanksgiving dinners with Michael Malice and Lex Fridman

The result?

A spike in interest, and audience growth.

How did he get there?

He found the city where it was all happening. Then moved there!
