Consistency looks like nothing is happening until suddenly everything changes.

The late nights, the early mornings, the sacrifices nobody sees, the moments where you question if any of it is even paying off. Then one day you look up and realize you’ve become everything you once prayed for.

I am forever indebted to the James T. George School of Business. It taught me far more than what could ever fit inside a classroom — resilience when things felt uncertain, discipline when I wanted to give up, and grace during moments of failure. It’s where I achieved some of my proudest accomplishments, learned how to truly advocate for myself, and met people who became family.

To say that I have been transformed would be an understatement. What was once a shy girl unsure of her voice has blossomed into a confident young woman, a leader, a mentor, and someone unafraid to take up space. Someone who now understands that growth is uncomfortable, success is earned, and consistency will always speak louder than doubt.

Only the strongest rise above the occasion.

Oh Alpha Kappa Alpha,

From the outside looking in, you can’t understand it. From the inside looking out, you can’t explain it. Joining this sorority is the definition of a dream personified, but becoming a member of the Gorgeous & Talented Gamma Theta chapter is destiny unfolding exactly the way it was always meant to. I will never stop thanking God for allowing me to walk this path.

These past two years have taught me immeasurable lessons in tenacity, grace, resilience, and doing it with a smile. Learning how to lead with purpose, love without limits, and stand firmly in who I am even when challenged. Every lesson, every sacrifice, every late night, every moment of doubt and triumph shaped me into a woman I am deeply proud to have become.

Ivies of Kismet, The K.U.R.E, Eye of the S.T.O.R.M, E.P.I.P.H.A.N.Y, and The X Factor — thank you for nurturing me, guiding me, and instilling the true purpose of this sisterhood within me. Your wisdom, protection, and example never went unnoticed. You showed me what it means to serve with humility, move with excellence, and love your sisters wholeheartedly. I pray I make you proud as I continue the legacy you helped build.

K.A.I.Z.E.N — leave your mark on the world and always remember the why behind it all: Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service to All Mankind. Never let anyone diminish the light you carry or the impact you are capable of making.

And finally, to my sisters, I came to Hampton University having no sisters and I now leave overflowing with them. Somewhere between the laughs, tears, prayers, long talks, and unforgettable memories, God gave me a family I didn’t even know I needed. The bond we share is something words will never fully capture. What’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. I got y’all for a lifetime and forever after that.

What is meant to be will always find its way.

On May 8th, I will become an alumna of Hampton University.

Twenty four years ago, my parents turned their tassels left and cemented a legacy. Four years ago, I chose to follow the foundation they built and make it my own. What I didn’t realize then was that Hampton had already been pouring into me long before I ever stepped foot on campus. Through years of stories, traditions, and the people connected to it, I was being shaped in quiet and unseen ways. It wasn’t until I got here that I truly understood the power of those lessons.

Without Hampton University, there is no version of me that exists today. This university did not just educate me, it stretched me, refined me, and shaped me into a woman who understands both her strength and her responsibility. I leave this chapter of my life knowing how to stand confidently on my own while still honoring the shoulders I stand on.

Mommy and Daddy, I hope your Hampton baby made you proud.
