Let’s talk about something that’s hard to bring up, but important 🐾 Treatment costs can vary depending on the type of cancer, the diagnostics needed, and the treatment plan involved. It’s a lot to take in, and cost shouldn’t be the reason you don’t get the full picture. We believe in walking pet parents through what to expect, so you can plan ahead and make the most informed decision for your pet. 💙 Follow for more details about The Cancer Vet Contact us: Pune - +91 87999 49295 Mumbai - +91 87999 49294 Email: pune@thecancer.vet mumbai@thecancer.vet Visit our website - www.thecancer.vet #thecancervet #veterinaryoncology #vetsofindia #vetoncology #PetCancerAwareness by @thecancervet
How do we diagnose a mast cell tumor under the microscope? 🔬 Mast cell tumors are among the most common skin tumors we see in dogs, and a simple fine needle aspirate can tell us a lot. Under the microscope, we look for round cells with purple granules, some of which also show up in the background from ruptured cells. But finding the tumor is only step one. Cytology also helps us estimate whether it’s low grade or high grade, based on features like nuclear size, multiple nuclei, mitotic figures, and variation in cell size. That grading guides the treatment plan and helps us understand the likely outlook💙 Follow for more details about The Cancer Vet Contact us: Pune - +91 87999 49295 Mumbai - +91 87999 49294 Email: pune@thecancer.vet mumbai@thecancer.vet Visit our website - www.thecancer.vet #thecancervet #veterinaryoncology #vetsofindia #vetoncology #PetCancerAwareness by @thecancervet

Mast Cell Tumor: the most common tumor we see in canines and felines. 🔬 It most often presents as a cutaneous form, followed by subcutaneous, and rarely intestinal or other visceral forms. As the disease progresses, it can metastasize to lymph nodes, liver, and spleen. So how do we diagnose it cytologically? Dr. Princy Thomas breaks it down in this episode of our Cytology Series.
