WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺🌏🦘🐨

It’s no secret that choosing where to visit in Australia can feel overwhelming, especially when the whole country is on your bucket-list. Here’s how we planned our 2 week+ adventure as U.S. tourists traveling to Australia for the first time and why these spots stole our hearts.👇

🚕 SYDNEY | 2 DAYS
A city that offers a mix of iconic landmarks, coastal beauty, and city life. With direct flights from major U.S. cities like Los Angeles and Dallas, it’s an accessible gateway to Australia, that allows you to adjust to the (brutal) time change. In two days you can explore the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, wander through The Rocks, relax at Bondi Beach, and enjoy the scenic Bondi to Coogee coastal walk.

⚓️ THE WHITSUNDAYS | 7 DAYS
A stunning collection of 74 tropical islands off the coast of Queensland, known for turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and easy access to The Great Barrier Reef. Spend seven days island hopping by sailboat, snorkeling from a liveaboard on the reef, and unwinding in Airlie Beach with oceanfront dining and laid-back coastal charm.

🏖️ MISSION BEACH | 2 DAYS
A quiet, tropical stretch of coastline in North Queensland, known for its lush rainforest, empty beaches, and access to The Great Barrier Reef. Spend two days soaking in the relaxed atmosphere, and take a short boat ride to Dunk Island for hiking trails, snorkeling, and stunning views of the Coral Sea.

🐠 CAIRNS | 4 DAYS
As the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is the perfect base for exploring one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders with easy day trips for snorkeling and diving. Over four days, you can meet koalas, kangaroos, and crocodiles at local wildlife parks, then unwind on beautiful nearby beaches like Palm Cove and Trinity Beach.

🌿CAPE TRIBULATION | 3 DAYS
Spend three days exploring the Daintree Rainforest, where the Great Barrier Reef meets one of the world’s oldest tropical rainforests. Discover jungle trails, encounter unique wildlife, take guided night walks, and relax on remote beaches in this untouched corner of Australia.

Welcome to the newest luxury hotel in Naples, Florida - @oldenapleshotelfl. 😍🌴

Right in the heart of Old Naples, this was the perfect home base for a getaway. We spent our days biking through historic streets, relaxing at the beach and rooftop pool, enjoying a little spa time, and exploring Third Street South and Fifth Avenue South before ending the evenings at Annie’s Bistro.

And while the hotel is brand new, there’s plenty of history here. Olde Naples Hotel pays homage to the original Naples Hotel, which opened in 1889, bringing a piece of the destination’s history into a completely new stay.

We put together a free Naples travel guide with everything we did, where we ate and how we spent our time. Comment “GETAWAY” and we’ll send it your way. ✔️

Send this to someone you’d love to explore this iconic Florida destination with and save for your next Naples trip.

POV: you just checked into the #1 @airbnb treehouse in Bali with your favorite person. 🤯😍

Hidden in the hills of East Bali, this luxury treehouse feels like stepping into another world. The open-air bamboo treehouse is surrounded by rice fields and jungle, with incredible views of Mount Agung. 🌿🐒 #AirbnbPartner

Even the bedroom is open to the elements, with just a net around the bed when it’s time to sleep. It’s such a unique experience, and easily one of the most unforgettable places we’ve ever stayed.

Explore Bali’s top luxury treehouses through the link in our bio and send this to someone you’d want to experience this with.✨

Follow @thecapturingcouple for more incredible adventures around the world and send this to someone you’d hike and swim with at Knik Glacier in Alaska. 🤯😍🧊

Swimming in a glacier pool was at the top of our Alaska bucket list, and it completely lived up to the hype. We flew by helicopter to Knik Glacier, explored different areas of the ice, and then took the plunge into the freezing glacial water (over and over again). 🥶😆

Getting to see this incredible landscape from above and then actually explore and swim was one of the most unique experiences of our Alaska trip. 🩵

10-DAY ALASKA ROAD-TRIP ITINERARY ✈️🐻🇺🇸

Here’s how we spent 10 days exploring some of Alaska’s most incredible landscapes, wildlife and glaciers, with @bestwestern stays along the way. 💙👇#BestWesternPartner

📍DAY 1: Arrive in Anchorage → Wasilla
Pick up your rental car and make your way to Wasilla for your first night at Best Western Lake Lucille Inn.

📍DAY 2: Wasilla + Hatcher Pass
Spend the day exploring alpine landscapes, scenic viewpoints and winding mountain roads.

📍DAY 3: Wasilla → Homer
Take the scenic route south through some of the most beautiful landscapes on the Kenai Peninsula, ending the day in Homer at Best Western Bidarka Inn.

📍DAY 4: Explore Homer
Spend the day exploring the coast, harbor, beaches and the charming Homer Spit.

📍DAY 5: Katmai National Park Bear Experience
Enjoy an unforgettable wildlife experience at Brooks Falls where you’ll find Alaskan brown bears, then make your way to Seward for the next part of the adventure.

📍DAY 6: Seward + Bear Glacier
Spend the day paddling among icebergs at Bear Glacier Lagoon and exploring downtown Seward.

📍DAY 7: Seward → Juneau
Experience a Knik Glacier hike and swim experience before flying to Juneau and checking into Best Western Grandma’s Feather Bed.

📍DAY 8: Explore Juneau
Spend the day exploring Mendenhall Glacier, waterfalls, coastal scenery and downtown shops.

📍DAY 9: Juneau
Take it a little slower with more sightseeing and a whale-watching adventure.

📍DAY 10: Juneau → Home
One last morning in Alaska before heading home.

👉 WANT MORE ALASKA? ADD DENALI: Add 2-3 days in Denali National Park at the beginning of your trip, then continue south to Wasilla. Best Western Plus Pioneer Park in Fairbanks is another option.

WHY WE CHOSE A ROAD TRIP OVER A CRUISE: We wanted to experience more of Alaska with the freedom to take scenic detours, stop for views, explore smaller towns and spend more time in places like Hatcher Pass and Homer. A cruise is a great option too, but a road trip gave us the flexibility we wanted. 🚗🛳️

SEND to a friend who you’d love to explore Alaska with and SAVE for future planning! ✈️🏔️

POV: you fly 4,000+ miles to see this with your own eyes 🥹🐻

One of the most surreal experiences of our Alaska trip was flying by seaplane from Homer into the remote wilderness of Katmai National Park with @northwind.aviation and @destination_alaska to see the Alaska brown bears of Brooks River.

And honestly, September might be one of the best times to go. 😍

While July is peak salmon season at Brooks Falls, by September the salmon have spawned and the bears are feasting on what’s left as they prepare for hibernation. A single bear can eat more than 30 salmon in a day! 🤯🐟

We saw around 30 bears throughout the day, from massive males to mothers and cubs, all in their natural environment. And going after the peak summer crowds made the experience feel even more special.

If seeing Alaska’s brown bears is on your bucket list, send this to the person you’d take with you and follow @thecapturingcouple for more unique adventures and luxury travel around the world. ✈️🌎

Ladies and gentlemen... welcome to Alaska. 🐻🐋🌲🎣

One week and four regions with more glaciers, mountains, wildlife and unreal views than we could possibly fit into one trip. #BestWesternPartner

We started our road trip in Anchorage, then made our way to Wasilla, through Hatcher Pass, down to Homer, across the Kenai Peninsula to Seward, and finally up to Juneau. 🚗

And honestly, the drive between each place was half the adventure. There’s something so special about having the freedom to pull over when a mountain catches your eye, take the scenic route, spend an extra hour somewhere that wasn’t on the itinerary, and experience Alaska beyond the usual cruise ports.

For this trip, we stayed at three @bestwestern properties along the way:

📍Best Western Lake Lucille Inn | Wasilla
The perfect base for exploring Hatcher Pass and the Mat-Su Valley, with Lake Lucille right outside our door.

📍Best Western Bidarka Inn | Homer
A great home base for exploring Homer, the Spit and the incredible scenery around Kachemak Bay.

 📍Best Western Grandma’s Feather Bed | Juneau
A cozy spot to come back to after long days exploring glaciers, waterfalls and the surrounding wilderness.

Alaska is BIG, and we barely scratched the surface. Having comfortable Best Western home bases along the way made it easy to spend our days exploring and our nights recharging for whatever was next.

If Alaska is on your bucket list send it to the person you’d want beside you for the adventure and save this for future planning. ✈️

Earth Premium: unlocked ✔️🧊 Just outside of Seward, Alaska, is a remote glacier lagoon that feels like another planet. 🤯😍

We took a scenic helicopter ride with @alaskahelicoptertours over towering mountains, glaciers, and untouched wilderness before landing at Bear Glacier Lagoon, where we got to paddleboard through water filled with massive icebergs. 🐻🚁

And the best part? We were the only ones out there. Just us, our guide, and icebergs floating in every direction. It was one of those experiences that didn’t even feel real. And somehow, we had the most perfect fall weather for it. ☀️🏔️

If you’re planning an Alaska trip, add this one to the top of your list.

Send this to your favorite adventure buddy and follow @thecapturingcouple for more adventures around the world. ✈️

We’ve been to 60+ countries, and here are 11 we think every couple should visit together at least once. 🫶✈️🌎

FINLAND 🇫🇮 | Northern Lights, cozy cabins, saunas, snowy landscapes and a slower pace. Hard to beat for a romantic winter escape.

COSTA RICA 🇨🇷 | Wildlife, adventure and beautiful places to stay. Explore all day, then spend the evening doing absolutely nothing.

THAILAND 🇹🇭 | Incredible food, beautiful islands, amazing resorts and plenty to explore. Make it as adventurous or relaxing as you want.

JORDAN 🇯🇴 | Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea and seriously unique experiences all in one trip.

GREECE 🇬🇷 | Beautiful islands, incredible food, ridiculously blue water and sunsets that live up to the hype.

BOTSWANA 🇧🇼 | If you love wildlife, this is a big one. Seeing elephants, lions and other animals together on safari is hard to replicate.

FRENCH POLYNESIA 🇵🇫 | Overwater bungalows, clear lagoons, incredible snorkeling and plenty of time to slow down.

ICELAND 🇮🇸 | Rent a car and go. Waterfalls, glaciers, hot springs, black sand beaches and some of the most dramatic scenery we’ve seen.

ARUBA 🇦🇼 | Easy, beautiful and fun without a packed itinerary. Great beaches, sunsets, water activities and plenty of time to relax together.

CHILE (PATAGONIA) 🇨🇱 | For couples who’d rather have mountains and glaciers than a beach. Incredible scenery and one giant adventure.

AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 | Wildlife, beaches, reefs, road trips and incredibly diverse landscapes. You could visit multiple times and still barely scratch the surface.

Okay, we know 11 is oddly specific. 😂 This is subjective, and after 60+ countries, we could’ve easily made this 20… or 30. These are simply some of our favorites we’ve experienced together.

Send this to the person you want to travel the world with, and follow @thecapturingcouple for more places worth adding to your list. ✔️
