POSTS STORIES REELS

The Black Church has always served as a spiritual sanctuary for the community. However over the decades, we have seen the shift of certain places go from a safe haven to the very one thing that harms Black people.

The tensions within Black church culture have opened up larger conversations about faith, power, tradition, leadership, accountability, and identity. From the things we’ve normalized to the questions we’ve been discouraged from asking, there is so much worth examining.

These conversations are part of what has shaped the development of Chamomile. I want to explore the complexities of the Black church experience without reducing it to either criticism or nostalgia. We can love the church and still wrestle with its culture, and we can value tradition and still question what needs to change.

Most importantly, we can tell the truth about our experiences without abandoning our faith.
