⛓️JULY WRAP UP⛓️

July wrap up in October, NBD😅😅😅 favorites out of this stack were the last letter and game on! Rest of the books were all 3 stars✨lots of hype around the eyes are the best part but it was just kind of boringggggg I’m sorry!!!! 🤷‍♀️
•
I will be all caught up by the end of the month i swear! I haven’t been able to read as much as I’d like because I’ve been so busy. I’m like 20 books behind on my reading goal for the year 😭
•
What are your current favorite reads of the year so far?🫶

⛓️SHELFIE SUNDAY⛓️

I’ve recently been adding to and reorganizing my book shelves. I’m really proud of this little nook 😊 while I feel like it’s not complete and definitely will be moving things around again, I love how this turned out!🔥
•
Also busted out some of my physical media and have been thrifting around to add to my collection. Got this lil cutie portable dvd player and I’m OBSESSED! What should I watch next?❤️‍🔥

The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥/5
Probably the saddest book I’ve ever read. Saw a bunch of videos with peoples reactions and everyone crying so I decided to torture myself. Let me tell ya, this book delivered! I’ve never cried so hard 😭 I will never recover from that ending. This book will rip your heart out and throw it in a blender. You’ve been warned 💔

⛓️BOOK REVIEW⛓️
•
Okay let me start off by saying this is my first fantasy book ever. I’m not used to the world building and the time period and language used in this book. SO it took me a minute to figure everything out and get shit straight.
•
With that being said once I finally had a grasp, I enjoyed this. The beginning I found to be a slower pace. Things didn’t really pick up till about half way. Malyr and Sebian are complete opposites which I thought added to the drama with poor Galantia.
•
I can’t tell if i liked the first book better, but i still enjoyed the second one in a different way. First half of the book is a tad slow. I do understand the point of the character building and galantia growing into herself so i get it. It was nice to see the relationships between her, sebian and malyr unfold and blossom. The ending is 100% justified.
•
Not 100% convinced I’ll be a fantasy girly just yet but this duet was nice to throw in the mix given what I usually read. The duet is dark and heavy so double check your trigger warnings🐦‍⬛🪽

⛓️MAY & JUNE WRAP UP⛓️
•
lumping these two months together because I was so busy and barely read anything. Three days in the pink tower was a doozy😮‍💨 really raw and devastating story of a teenage girl getting kidnapped. based on the authors own true story. Just sad😓
•
And of course an auto buy for me, Megan Lally. What we did to survive was not one of her bests but still enjoyable. It’s YA and pretty predictable but thrilling enough to keep you on your toes!🌊🦴
•
The ruins was probably the worst book I’ve ever read😅 took me a month and a half to finish. Snooze fest. Boring unlikeable characters. Vacation/botanical horror? This was SO lame imo🌱

⛓️APRIL WRAP UP⛓️
•
HOLY SHIT IM BACK FROM THE DEAD AND DO WE HAVE SOME CATCHING UP TO DO!❤️‍🔥
•
highlight of this stack was the court of ravens duet. Will feature this on its own because it really stood out to me. 🐦‍⬛🕊️
•
The other two books were just whatever. The quiet tenant was the most underwhelming thriller ever. So incredibly slow with little to no action. Lame ending and just kind of boring. The swamps was a quick and easy read. Gives major goosebumps vibes. I really enjoyed the southern creepy swamp setting but it’s a tad corny.
•
Stay tuned as I backlog all of my reading while trying not to have anxiety about it 😅

⛓️MARCH WRAP UP⛓️
•
Okay we are officially caught up with our monthly wrap ups! This was a fun ride! Highly recommend all these books. The cool spine book was goddess of filth and I had such high hopes for this one but it fell super flat and boring to me🤷🏼‍♀️
•
I love mixing the genres for the month! Keeps me entertained and less of the feeling like being in a reading slump!
•
If you’ve read any of these lemme know! Let’s chat about em!❤️‍🔥

⛓️TWO FOR TUESDAY⛓️
•
Picked up Bloom on a whim. I mean this cover alone was just calling to me! I loved this story so much. I ate that shit up 😏 Perfect ending! I saw she had another book so naturally I grabbed it. Guillotine was so fucking good! Eat the rich revenge? Sign me up! Both these books are short and sweet and easy to read in one sitting. The horror elements in both these are so well written, highly recommend 🔥
