Brenna and Tom met at Fordham University in New York City, and on a fateful night at a Cinco de Mayo party, they got to talking and never really stopped. It felt like it was just the two of them in the room, they said. After the party ended, they sat on a stoop for hours, talking into the early morning before sharing their first kiss before sunrise. In the weeks that followed, they were inseparable - Yankee games, long walks through Midtown, afternoons at Coney Island.

Nine years later, they were married in a church in the beloved city where they met and built a life together.

They rode to Central Park in the back of a vintage 1973 taxi as the sun dropped behind the skyscrapers, waving to strangers who called out their congratulations from every NYC street corner. Their choreographed first dance at the Essex House was a hit, and family and friends filled the dance floor as a nine-piece band played late into the night.

Their wedding weekend was a chic, elegant Manhattan affair - everything they dreamed of and more 🍎🗽🚖

Maddi & RJ Wedding | August 8, 2026

From getting ready & having their first look on the terrace of the @boweryhotel in Lower East Side, to exchanging their personal vows at the intimate French bistro @bacchusbistrowine in Brooklyn, Maddi & RJ’s wedding was one for the books.

The afternoon celebrations continued with a drive around Brooklyn in the iconic vintage taxi @thecheckercab

And this was just Part ONE of their wedding day celebrations!!

Who’s ready to see Part two???

The detail nobody expects in a bridal editorial: cigarette butts on the curb, next to the veil.

Mattie & Arjun’s Brooklyn engagement session, styled like a campaign shoot, not a couple’s photo op. Red eyeshadow sharp enough to cut glass. A checker cab dressed head to toe in florals. An invitation suite that says “Love Club” in cursive on a taxi hood.

We didn’t direct this into something safe. Veil against concrete, silk against chrome, romance against a city that doesn’t care either way.

Save this if “editorial” is the vibe you’re chasing.

There’s a version of a Brooklyn engagement session that plays it safe. This isn’t that one.

Mattie & Arjun leaned into red eyeshadow, a checker cab wrapped in florals, and light that shifted from soft gold to full noir as the night went on. Inside the taxi, quiet and close. On the street, sharp and cinematic.

Not documenting a couple - building a world around them.

Checker cab. Red eyeshadow. A florist who went feral with the blooms.
This is what happens when an engagement session gets styled like a campaign.
Brooklyn, golden hour to full flash. Full story on the blog.

If you’re planning an engagement session and “safe” isn’t the vibe - this one’s for you.

Mattie & Arjun in Brooklyn: red eyeshadow, a checker cab dressed in florals, sunset light that turned to flash and shadow by the end of the night.

We’d love to build something like this with you.

Leading the pack through NYC. 🏁🚕💨

Our vintage Checker Cab had the honor of serving as the pace car for @nocco.usa and @thesydneyrunclub , cruising ahead of an incredible group of runners through the city streets.

Not your average Saturday morning.
