We’re already to Friday- and what great first few days of school! We have embarked on our third academic year with 16 students, 2 incredible full-time teachers, a music instructor, and 3 rotating intermediate class instructors. We’ve had a full and happy summer together, which has turned into a beautiful start of the Fall semester. Stay tuned for backyard picnics and open houses. Message us to be on an email list (we rarely email) and/or to set up a tour. We would love to meet you and share WHY project-based, art-centered, experiential learning in mixed-age classrooms is the way to learn in the 21st century! #rainbowhousebuffalo #alternativeeducation #buffalony buffaloschools by @thechildsgarden

Upcycled Puppetry Week is complete! Every time I look back on photos, I’m always amazed at what we are able to accomplish in five short days. Puppets are great fun, the children made upcycled butterflies and horse marionettes. They were able to learn a little bit about storytelling through puppetry, and had a lot of fun doing it. So grateful that we’ve been able to have such a full and fun summer together with wonderful kids. Only one week left! 🥲 Thanks to all the parents who help their children be prepared each day for adventure and play! What a kind bunch too. ❤️🌈🌻 #rainbowhouseschool #summercamp #buffalony #alternativeeducation #playlearngrow taken in Delaware Park Rose Garden by @thechildsgarden

Picnicking in the treehouse like storybook children… tiptoeing through fairy trails in faraway lands. Summers are for frolicking and adventure… have to add a bit of whimsy too. 🏰🌈🧺🌱 this is how memories are made magical. #rainbowhouseschool #buffalony #summercamp #alternativeeducation taken in Buffalo, New York by @thechildsgarden

Week Three of Rainbow House Camp was delicious!! We splashed around, ate frozen smores, picked blueberries at @thorpesorganicfarm , learned about moths at @pelionchs , swam at the beach and took in a bit of history while cruising through the Lockport locks!! What a full and fun week. We have 4 MORE weeks of summer camp left and only one week is at max capacity, so if you would like to sign your child up for camp send us a message to check for availability! Camp runs until August 21st. taken in Buffalo, New York by @thechildsgarden

We were able to stay safe and get some adventure in today by visiting the botanical gardens! The children brought sketch pads and enjoyed themselves greatly. What a peaceful, beautiful place we have here in the city. 🌱🌵🌈 #rainbowhouseschool #buffalo #alternativeeducation #summertime taken in Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens by @thechildsgarden
