So I always like to know who I’m following, so here is a little intro post (pretending that at this stage of things, most of you don’t already know me 🤣)

Hi there! My name is Alysha, and I have been working in the chocolate industry for over a decade.

From the time I was a little girl, chocolate was always my favourite flavour of anything…ice cream, cake, milkshake…you name it, I wanted it to be chocolate.

And how lucky was I to grow up surrounded by chocolate because my aunt owned a chocolate shop? You’ll meet her soon 😉🤎

As much as I enjoy a candy bar as much as the next girl, I was fortunate to be exposed to the good stuff from a very early age.

When she got really busy during the holidays, my Mum & I would help her out. My Mum would be the foiler, wrapping chocolate Santas, or bunnies, or whatever solid chocolate figure the season called for. And I was the sticker girl, carefully placing her shop’s sticker on the back of each one.

I also grew up in a family where food was an obsession, & it was that same aunt who taught me to love cooking. My Dad, my uncle, my grandfather are/were all cooks, but she was the one who actually taught my brother & I how to cook & to love the process. We would make everything from scratch - bread, pie, cake…there was even a massive blackberry jam experiment at our cabin one summer 😉

Given what a fabulous teacher she is & how passionate she is about chocolate, it’s no wonder she started an online chocolate school!

After getting a degree in organizational psychology & some time in the research & non-profit fields, I found myself wanting something different for my career, especially after having a family.

So I asked my aunt if there was anything I could do to help, & I began working with her on her marketing for @ecolechocolat …and the rest is history, as they say!

In my other life, I’m a busy Mum to 3 boys (including a set of twins), married to a boy I met in first year university about a quarter century ago ♥️

In addition to chocolate, my other Achilles heels are pizza, pasta & aCabernet Sauv 😉🍕🍝🍷

Thank you for being here! 🤎

The perfect way to spend a fall evening - dining in the domes @frindwinery

We’ve only lived in Kelowna for two months & been to Frind once. Our twins wanted to celebrate their birthday here & we were happy to come back again!

The pizza incredible & the Premier 2023 red was delicious & our server Emma remembered us from the summer & took excellent care of us again 🍷🍕 by @thechocolatemademedoit

Happy Halloween to all the witches, ghosts & goblins!

If you are celebrating with chocolate from your local chocolatier or chocolate maker, all the better 🧡🎃🖤🕷️

Thankful is an understatement - our first Thanksgiving in Kelowna 🧡

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 🇨🇦 by @thechocolatemademedoit

Still pinching myself that I live here 🩵

I am so very grateful, & also proud of my little family that we made this happen, despite all the hard things that have happened since the end of 2019.

Taking a moment for a deep exhale & getting my boys settled, & then I can’t wait to dive into this new life & what the future holds.

I’m not the same person I was-

The biggest lesson I’ve learned was to trust my intuition…it knows a lot. And then trust that everything will work out. Know that I can handle the bumps that will inevitably happen a long the way.

So if something is calling to you, don’t be afraid of change. Take the first step…you never know where you might end up 🩵 by @thechocolatemademedoit

Went into the archives for this one…the boy is almost as tall as me now 😉

One of my favourite videos ever from a beautiful fall day 🧡

Love finding these little rocks on my walks in my new neighbourhood 💖🪨🎨

They always make me smile - and this one had the perfect reminder for a recovering worrier 😉

Exploring our new home 🥰🏡

Very excited to explore all the vineyards in this beautiful part of the world we are lucky enough to live in now, starting with @missionhillwinery

I did notice that they didn’t have much of a chocolate presence….perhaps I can change that 😉🍫 by @thechocolatemademedoit

We lost a legend today - Dolly Parton was an icon for her music, but equally as much for her philanthropy, which she often did without much fanfare.

I’ve listened to many podcast interviews with her, & if you haven’t had the pleasure, I would highly encourage it. You get so much of a sense of her true spirit, & it’s every bit as beautiful as you might think.

One of my favourite anecdotes about her is that Elvis wanted to buy the rights to “I will always love you” & she said no. Imagine what it must have taken as a woman in that era to say no to someone like him. Total power move.

As someone who recently uprooted her whole life to move across the country, this quote means so much to me 💖🦋🩵

Thank you for everything @dollyparton - your legacy will live on & inspire future generations of women to be true to themselves & not let the world push them aside. by @thechocolatemademedoit
