Why follow me? I want to help you become more visible. Take those steps that could change your life. We're not talking about winning on a platform. Not chasing trends or hacks that work this week. It's bigger than that. It's about building a personal brand. What would happen if millions of people saw your content over a long period of time. Turn up to help and you get so much more. I believe we're in the next wave of social media. Where real people make content to help other real people. Are you ready? Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? Comment COUCH26 and I’ll DM you the details of Couch to Creator. by @thechrisgoor
Who's seeing your offer? If it's a few people... who aren't really looking... You might have the best offer in the world but no-one is buying. I spent my entire first year on social media building an audience... Finding out what people needed. THEN I developed a problem which I saw multiple people having. And by the time it was ready... I had an audience. It's the slow way. But I think it's the more meaningful way. Build a strong foundation of people you actually want to help and the results will follow. We're also more likely to... JUST BE HERE TOMORROW! Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? Comment COUCH26 and I’ll DM you the details of Couch to Creator. by @thechrisgoor
fill in this phrase and make it clear in all your content. The platforms will then know how to push your videos. Your ideal audience will recognise that you make content for them? It can also be a yardstick to judge your own content. Can you say it this clearly? Drop it in the comments. Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? Can you lean in? It makes such a difference if you can play with the distance between yourself and the camera. If things need to feel more intimate; lean in, lower your voice, It makes us lean in too. Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? Comment PODLINK to listen to the whole journey How long does real growth take? I'm not a flash in the pan. Slow and steady wins the race. Every social media journey is an exponential curve. Just the start of that curve is very flat. Would you have kept going? I explain the whole journey I've been on. And Christy explains her journey too. (spoiler - Christy's audience growth is faster than mine) by @thechrisgoor
AI Video Warning. I used some AI video to create some bespoke B-roll over 18 months ago. And I got ZERO critical comments. And now... There's quite a few. My latest video which uses AI was to illustrate a point. Not making an avatar of me. I think people want real content. Made by real people. And that's a good thing. Better B-Roll especially if you're illustrating a point. Just putting in these small signals will help the viewer know what's coming. Give them a try if you're an expert in your field trying to build a personal brand using video. Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? This has saved me hours! Voiceover doesn't have to be done in the edit. The easiest way to make it match is... Simply record it whilst you're in the field. In the same place as the rest of your video. It'll sound the same... Flow better from the previous line... And is easier to do! Want help making your first 5 weeks of posting simple and doable? Shoot a simple video inside. We can all do better than just the usual boring short videos. You can do something whilst chatting to your ideal audience. Just stick these shots together whilst giving out some useful advice. It's easier than you think. Want to be a confident creator? We've built an 8 week plan with all the knowledge I wish I had before I gained real traction: Camera Basics, Camera Movement, Hooks, Scripting, Video Frameworks, Editing, Idea Generation Creative Challenges and much more Comment CC26 and I'll send you the link. by @thechrisgoor
Comment PODLINK for the full chat. How to make your edits SO easy. Speak in beats. On your next reel think if you can get the scissors in at the start and the end of the phrases. Do a single beat in a single shot. There's loads more great things in this week's podcast! If you have a question you want us to chat through, let us know too!
