Im an actor/comedian trying to change the world one laugh at a time

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So far, everyone I have posted about has been a person that I have worked with frequently in the past in a capacity adjacent to their role on 'Sealed with a Kiss'. However, Chris Cook is one of the few people on set who I've never worked with in their preferred professional role, but I knew from the moment I saw his audition. He not only understood the assignment, but was passionate about it. Two qualities that I couldn't have appreciated more on this Production. I was blown away by his professionalism, engagement, good nature and humor a true blessing of a person to be around. Not just me, but everyone else would light up when he was around bringing an upbeat energy to even the most stressful of Production moments. The subtle dynamics he brings to this character allow for the humor to bloom in a way that reminds me of the late, great Leslie Nielson. That's not even getting into the chemistry between him and Mark something that's best observed through watching the short! Every take with Chris allowed for something fresh and new to be brought forward, making it incredibly difficult to pick my favorites in post production. Truly an embarrassment of riches in the performance delivered on screen. The words in this post do not do Chris Cook enough justice, so the last thing I'll say is thank you Chris. Your range as an actor is known to me and I can't wait to work with you again, so that we can demonstrate that to the whole world. Good luck with what you create next brother because I know everyone should be keeping an eye on you for when you blow up! by @thechristopher.cook

Thank you so much for everyone that came out to the @charlestonfilmnetwork screener event yesterday I was so happy to finally see sealed with a kiss on a big screen, and I couldn’t have been happier about the reception or the show out. We missed those of you that couldn’t make it yesterday, but your hard work was appreciated by the whole crowd I received constant praise for it, and that praise deserves to be shared by all of the people in the above photo and all of the people who couldn’t make it. It rocked! If you have not seen Sealed with a Kiss yet, please check it out through my YouTube link in my bio! by @thechristopher.cook

No one needs me to tell them that Mark Gallo is an incredibly hardworking and talented actor because, as proof of his tenacity, most of us have had the pleasure of working with him. What I can say, since this was my first time as a Director working with Mark on a creative level, is that my respect ratcheted even higher after we were finished. He had such honest feedback that made the script better and better with each passing discussion and through that never once did I feel that Mark was anything but on my side. He was always incredibly respectful!

Every time we would press record, Mark would deliver a unique, interesting and funny performance that genuinely made it a tough time picking through and finding my favorites to share with you all. He is overflowing with a charisma that isn’t just visible on screen, but felt by every other cast and crew member, from the start until the very end.

Mark, as always, you delivered gold on a silver platter with a plethora of choice on top of that. Words do not even begin to describe how much I appreciate your passion and for being generous enough to lend me your time, expertise and talent. God Bless you, Mark and I ccn’t wait to see what you have coming next!! by @thechristopher.cook

A new official still and BTS for @embers.filmofficial featuring the incredible @thechristopher.cook

Over the past few years, I have worked with many actors in many different roles. However, almost every actor I have met, I never knew personally beforehand. So when the opportunity came to cast Christopher Cook, a man I knew quite well, it was a different experience. A good friend and inspiring creative on my journey, Chris was someone I never quite knew where I wanted to put. I had never been able to find the correct spot. Knowing him so well, and being so close with him made it difficult for my mind to mold him into a role. He is so kind and so fun to be around that I was never certain he would ever find a place in my incredibly bleak and brutal films. However this time I realised there was a very real possibility that he could be the one to play the Vagabond. In that moment, I saw an evil and a hate in Chris that I had never before or bore witness to. I felt in my heart that this could be one of the best decisions I would make for Embers. And he was incredible. In pre-production, Chris was receptive and proactive. Diving deep into the mind of the vagabond and pulling references from similar characters to understand the evil and the psychopathy of the man whom he would take the identity of. We had numerous meetings that repeatedly reassured me that I had made the right call. On set I watched my funny, kind, and loving friend sink into a mask of pure malice. He played that role and showed me a side of himself that I had never seen before being so scary, I was sometimes nervous to talk to him. Not to say directing him was difficult. Chris was excellent as an actor, taking direction, following instructions, and working through scenes politely and responsively before climbing right back into the skin of a vicious killer. I am very excited for people to see just what he can do, because it was incredible.

Crew Shoutout: Craft services @e.m.tharp02, Elizabeth managed to elude our BTS photographer for most of the shoot. But we aren’t letting her get away that easy. She kept us fed, full, and lifted our spirits for the entire shoot. She went out got out breakfast and dinner, made all the food look pretty, checked on our well being, and made sure all of us were in tip top shape. Elizabeth thank you for making us feel cared for and keeping us fed, we loved having you out on set.

The First Official still for our new period piece “Embers” a violent story of hate, vengeance, and loss. This is by far the largest and most ambitious film I have done, and I am honored to be backed by such an incredible team of people. It’s been so exciting to see how my team and the scale of my projects grows with each new film I make. This project was truly a spectacle to behold on set and will be larger than life in the big screen. I’m so grateful to everyone involved, and I look forward to sharing this film with the world - Director @thebenbeauchamp
