Christmas lights should be the easiest part of your holiday season.

We start by coming to your home, creating a custom design and letting you choose exactly what you want, from the roofline to bushes, trees and wreaths.

Then we custom fit and install everything with no loose strands. Throughout the season, if a bulb or strand goes out, our maintenance package covers it and we’ll come back within 48 hours to fix it at no additional cost.

When the holidays are over, we take everything down, pack it up and store it for you until next season.

North Shore and South Shore homes can have completely different window cleaning problems.

On the North Shore, trees and wooded properties can mean more bugs, debris and buildup collecting around the windows and sills. Some of those sills can get completely covered.

On the South Shore, salt, wind and being closer to the water can leave windows dealing with a different type of buildup, including salt residue, dust and debris constantly blowing toward the house.

Same island, completely different maintenance problems.

Keep three Christmas movies and apparently we’re trying to start a war in the comments.

Home Alone is staying. Elf is staying. A Christmas Story takes the final spot.

That means Die Hard gets cut because it’s “not a Christmas movie,” The Grinch gets sacrificed, and Polar Express gets eliminated for having creepy animation.

But saying you’ve never heard of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation OR It’s a Wonderful Life might be the most controversial part of this entire list.

The holiday draft got out of control fast.

$12 on the 4th of July because fireworks apparently matter more than financial responsibility. Halloween went cheap, Thanksgiving started a bidding war and somehow Christmas was still sitting there at the end.

But spending almost your entire budget on the 4th of July might be the most controversial move here.

Some backyard features are only as good as the maintenance behind them.

Pergolas are in when they’re kept clean, but once algae, moss and buildup take over, they can make the entire yard look neglected.

Semi inground pools beat an above ground setup, but a true inground pool still takes it.

And an outdoor bar with a grill, kitchen and sink? Absolutely in. Make it a swim up bar and you’ve basically won the backyard.

This past Friday, we had the privilege of speaking to the students at Long Beach High School about entrepreneurship.

Two years ago, we were sitting right where they sit. No business, no customers, just a bucket, a squeegee, and an idea we couldn’t stop thinking about. Standing in front of that room and telling our story was a full circle moment we won’t forget.

We talked about surrounding yourself with the right people, taking the first step before you feel ready, betting on yourself, and what it really takes when things get hard. The questions these kids asked blew us away. The future of Long Island is in good hands.

Huge thank you to the teachers and staff at Long Beach for having us and for everything you do for these students. You’re the real ones. 🙏

If even one person in that room walked out thinking “I could do that,” it was worth it.

South Shore windows can be a completely different battle.

Salt air, hard water and coastal conditions can leave buildup that a basic squeegee cleaning may not fully address. That’s why the job shouldn’t end when the glass looks clean from one angle.

We take a final lap, look for hard water spots, communicate what we’re seeing and use protective treatments when appropriate to help homeowners maintain their windows longer.

Our first Christmas light install ended up being one of the craziest designs we did all season.

Pink and white lights across the house, windows and bushes, topped off with a massive six foot pink wreath.

At the time, it was the last design we expected someone to choose. But once everything went up, it completely changed our minds.

After that, we did about 30 warm white installs before people started getting more adventurous with red, white, purple and other color combinations.

Sometimes the Christmas setup that sounds crazy on paper ends up being the one everyone remembers.

Halloween decorations only work if you actually commit to the theme.

Orange and purple string lights are in because they instantly give the house that Halloween feel. Hanging ghosts from the trees are out.

But a full haunted house setup with fog machines? Absolutely in.

If you’re going to decorate, go all the way. One lonely gravestone sitting in the middle of the lawn isn’t doing anything.

One of our craziest Christmas light jobs started with a guy walking outside at 9 PM in shorts, a T shirt and flip flops when it was about 25 degrees.

He asked for an estimate on the spot and wanted around 90 bushes wrapped in lights. Then he added the trees too.

The crazy part is we never even lit the house.

The bushes and trees illuminated the entire property and created one of the cleanest, most unique displays we did all season. Sometimes you don’t need lights covering every inch of the house to make the property stand out.
