I wanted to make this little introduction post so that whenever you come across my page, you’ll know what to expect!

I’m Kortnee — a wife, mama, photographer, and aspiring author who loves Jesus, stories that uplift, and connecting with people who love a good book too! 📖✨

I actually almost gave up on reading because I was so tired of running into books full of spice or ones that mocked faith. I wanted to find stories that filled my heart instead of dimming the Spirit — and then I found the Closed Door Bookstagram community, and everything changed!

Now I share books that remind me of God’s goodness, characters with depth, and stories that help us grow closer to Christ (while still being totally entertaining 🤩). You’ll find everything from faith-based fiction to clean mainstream reads — all stories that align with my values and leave me feeling uplifted. 🩵

When “Young Adult” books are being written like adult romance… we have a problem.

YA should be safe for teens. Not a place where parents have to worry about explicit content.

That’s why I started this page. To make it easier for readers (and parents of readers) to find books that are clean, closed-door, and trustworthy.

You can count on me to always be honest in my reviews and to only share stories that uplift.

The @sweet.romance.spectacular was an absolute blast! It was so much fun and I’m so happy I was able to meet so many amazing new people! This community is seriously the absolute best.

I attended my first booking event last year and was a bit intimidated but learned quickly I didn’t need to be. This one made me feel even more comfortable and excited for my next event!

I’m so sad I didn’t get more pictures with people but I’m grateful for everyone who came up and introduced themselves and chatted with me! You all are seriously the best!

Getting to chat with authors I absolutely love was an absolute treat! Meeting others and just reaffirming that they are absolute gems 🤩 My only disappointment is I’m not rich and couldn’t purchase all the books there 😂 and also that I couldn’t just chat with each individual for hours.

This event just filled my cup! Helped me realize I have stories I want to tell but its ok to take my time with getting them out, because their are definitely times and seasons.

If you are hesitating to go to something like this don’t! Go and you’ll get to meet some amazing people!

Thank you again to all the amazing people who made this event an absolute blast! Can’t wait to attend this and other bookish events in the future!

I enjoyed so much Darkfell and have been so looking forward to this second book Firewing! Have you had a chance to read Darkfell? Now is the perfect time to do it in preparation for this release! 🤩

My Thoughts:

Oh my goodness I love Georgie and Logan so so much! They are the cutest nerdiest couple in this series! I love it so much! Here they are talking and flirting over Poetry the whole book. Which I’ve never thought about poetry as deeply as they did but it was fun to ponder a bit more on that.

Both Logan and Georgie are holding on to so much in different ways. It was interesting watching them process grief individual and together. They were both good for each other and so so sweet. The last few chapters did have me in tears and the works through different things. Also I was cheering Georgie on so much in those last chapters. I felt like I related in some ways to both of these characters so honestly I loved some of the things I learned from their journey.

I also enjoyed the fact that we got to see many of the characters from Kate’s other books. It’s always fun seeing them make appearance especially after reading their stories!

I absolutely adore all the characters in this series! It would really be hard for me to pick a favorite because I love them all in different ways, and they’ve all made me feel such a wide range of emotions!

I’m hoping we will get to have Jake’s story! Crossing my fingers that we get that! I also absolutely loved Liv and she seems like a very interesting character who I’d love to see a story for! There are really so many great side characters!

I love this book so much and so enjoy Kate’s books! She is able to write a romcom that has me absolutely cracking up but also can bring me to tears with the depth of emotions she explores! I just love her books and cannot recommend them enough. by @thecloseddoorbookworm
