The brief: whimsical, white and green, garden romance.

I wanted something a little unexpected, so instead of adding more greenery, we filled the centerpieces with green apples, grapes, pears and kiwis. They pulled in the sage linens, grounded the florals, and gave guests a reason to lean in a little closer (& grab a little snack).

It’s the small, playful details that make a table feel like yours. every. single. time.

Before it was a ballroom, this was the Statler’s grand lobby, and those vaulted ceilings have watched over St. Louis since 1917. We filled them with soft silk draped from the beams, and when they kissed, the whole room rose with them.

Over a century of celebrations in this space, and it still felt like it had been waiting just for them 🤍

Autumn light. A private dock. A couple, finally alone for one real minute before the day picked back up. Fitting that today marks the first day of fall, the same light that made this moment feel like a scene. This is exactly why I build the timeline around moments like this, not the other way around. Seven years ago today, The Coda’s Collective planned its very first wedding.

So today feels like the right day to revisit this one: an aisle suspended between cliff and sea at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. No dressing required when the view is the design.

A backyard, reimagined as a Nordic solstice, for Star and Dan. Now on @greenweddingshoes ☀️

Inspired by the film Midsommar (minus the horror, obvi lol). Star grew over five hundred flowers from seed to fill the garden herself. She and Dan walked the aisle together, in the old Swedish way. And the flower crown, handbuilt to echo the film’s headpieces, held through an entire night of dancing.

A moment worth pausing for. 🕊️

Someone once told us they chose us because our work never looked recycled, it looked like it belonged to them. That’s the whole practice: listen first, then build a day that feels unmistakably like the two people at the center of it. No signature look, no repeated palette, no borrowed mood. Just a story, told once, exactly as it should be.
