Het seizoen is geopend! We kijken met heel veel plezier terug op een hele mooie editie van ๐๐€๐๐Š๐„๐“, waarin de expositie ๐˜ž๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ ๐˜š๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด van The Constant Now opende. Via performances en rondleidingen namen de kunstenaars ons mee door het gebouw, langs hun werken en uiteenlopende praktijken. Hannah Zaouad opende diens open studio voor publiek, en Tashattot Collective transformeerde de grote zaal tot een installatie waarop kibbeh werd geserveerd. Deze avond treedt de tentoonstelling buiten haar vaste ruimtes en komen beeldende kunst, performance, gesprekken, eten en muziek samen. De afgelopen weken werd er hard gewerkt aan de tentoonstelling ๐˜ž๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ ๐˜š๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด. Op 18 september vieren we de feestelijke opening tijdens BANKET! ๐Ÿชฉ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒธ Tijdens de avond nemen de kunstenaars je mee door de tentoonstelling, wordt het werk geactiveerd met performances en is er een eetbare installatie. In de Rode zaal, de tuin en de foyer wordt volop gerepeteerd om alles klaar te krijgen. De tentoonstelling brengt het werk samen van vijftien kunstenaars uit POC POC 3, het mentoringtraject van ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜„, en werd gecureerd door ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป. Eerder dit jaar was ze te zien in Kunsthal Mechelen, in de Brakke Grond loopt ze nog t/m 25 oktober. Laatste weekend! 'FLOOR ROOF' van @_jiyoch en @__twie is een performance en installatie over wat een thuis betekent. Het werk onderzoekt hoe je zorg draagt voor je thuis en hoe je dat met je meedraagt wanneer je verhuist. Tijdens de opening droegen de kunstenaars het huis naar binnen en pakten ze het uit als onderdeel van de installatie. Wayward Sanctuaries is een tentoonstelling met @theconstantnow en @brakkegrond Nog tot 9 augustus bij Kunsthal Mechelen! The exhibition through young eyes. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ธ Emily Walter @mlywltr artist of POC POC 3 and part of the StampMedia team, took a group of young photographers to see her work in the group exhibition WAYWARD SANCTUARIES at @kunsthalmechelen The outing's theme that week was "Home," so Sedra, Julia, Lin, Lemar, Ibrahim, and Ahmed made their own photos and collages of what home and sanctuary mean to them, inspired by the exhibition curated by @leanaboven The young photographers were 15 years old. The Constant Now was honoured to take part in this year's professional meetings atย Les Rencontres d'Arles, at the invitation of @kunstenpunt We were proud to select two emerging photographers, @yaqine.raw (Yaqine Hamazoui) and @charbelalkhoury to participate alongside ten other talented photographers from across Belgium, Luxembourg and France. In the lead-up to Arles, we organised two coaching sessions with Yaqine and Charbel, helping them refine their artist statements and sharpen their pitches so they could make the most of every conversation with international curators, publishers, designers and other photography professionals. It was inspiring to see so much talent come together in such an open and generous atmosphere. Here's to new encounters, meaningful conversations and future collaborations.
