I knew this day would come, but didn’t think it would be this soon…this one hurt just as much as losing my dad & my brother… it physically hurts my heart, a pain only some people will understand…On 1/11, we had to make a heartbreaking decision to let Wallie rest forever. As sad as we were, we were more upset about how we couldn’t do anything for him. It seemed like everyone gave up on Wallie when they seen the severity of his cancer. We were willing to go to the ends of the earth to get him help, and we did. We advocated for him, we researched the best oncologists, the best treatments, but ultimately, time wasn’t on our side…We prayed for a miracle to happen because we knew how much Wallie loved life and would want us to do everything to just have another summer together.. But after calling the ER that sunday morning and they told us not to come in to get help, but instead telling us to put him down…we knew nobody was going to help save him…we couldn’t stand to see him decline any longer, so had @lapofloveveterinaryhospice to peacefully take him to the rainbow bridge at home.Thank you to everyone who’s shared Wallie’s journey and messaged us about their pets story. We truly appreciate it.Some people have asked how they could help, and we now have a GoFundMe in our bio to honor Wallie and recover medical costs. The past week with Wallie has been a mix of good days and hard days.On his good days, he can still walk and go potty, shows interest in playing, eats a few bites and treats, drinks water, takes his meds, and sleeps through most of the night. He hasn’t had any seizures/syncopy for 2 weeks now, thankfully!We’ve also noticed he’s no longer limping. Seeing glimpses of his old self means everything to us. On his harder days, he mostly wants to rest. He still wants to play but quickly gets out of breath, struggles to get comfortable, won’t eat, and taking medications becomes very very difficult.Our initial oncologist shared that Wallie may not qualify for vaccine trials due to his limited expected survival time. We’ve been researching non traditional treatments like immunotherapy options and seeking additional opinions. While it’s been challenging to get on the schedules to talk with an oncologists , we’re grateful to have a consultation this Monday and another scheduled for the first week of February.We’ve also ordered an at-home oxygen chamber from @pawprintoxygen to help support his breathing while we figure out the best path forward. We’re taking this one moment at a time and doing everything we can. by @thecorgiefam

December 18th, 2025: After learning about Wallie’s condition, we monitored him around the clock, rotating sleep just to keep eyes on him. The moment we looked away, he suddenly had seizure/syncope. It was the most terrifying and heartbreaking thing we’ve ever witnessed.We rushed him to the ER, where we were told he could pass at any time. We weren’t ready to let him go that night.They sent us home with sedation and information about at-home euthanasia. We called friends and family so they could see him, possibly one last time. Over the days, more people came by to spend time with him.While we wait to see if he can enroll in a clinical trial or explore any remaining options, we’re doing everything we can to keep him comfortable — a stroller, quiet days, jazz music, and lots of love.His condition seems to be worsening, but we want to know we did everything we could.Wallie is my first dog. The first dog I ever held.He was there for me when I lost my brother to cancer in 2019.Now we’re fighting for him the best way we know how.#corgi #cancer #sarcoma #osteosarcoma #seizureawareness by @thecorgiefam

It all started with a limp right after thanksgiving and we thought he injured himself on the stairs. Possibly sprained his ankle or shoulder, but it ended up being something more serious than that…His x-ray showed a lytic lesion on his toe, a cancer that is destroying his bone. This is source of his pain & limp.After further diagnosis with a CT scan to see if it had spread anywhere else, we got the news that there are more cancerous tumors in his lungs and stomach…We feel defeated..especially when every doctor has given us no hope and have said it’s time to think about his comfort instead of finding a way to treat him…We spent $6,000 on a ct scan and biopsy just for the dr. to tell us that he’s going to die soon…So, i’ve spend hours trying to save him myself. On fb groups and google to find the most viable treatments for him to live just a bit longer…and I found one clinical trial ran by a professor from Yale (EGFR/HER2 Vaccine)But they said he may not qualify for the trial…For now, we are trying to keep him comfortable and taking everything day by day.Thank you to everyone that has supported us and brought us food because we haven’t left the house in days. *A lot has happened since this was recorded.
