Reading isn’t a race 🀎 Sometimes you fly through a book in one sitting, and other times it may take weeks to finish one. Both are fine! You are not in competition with anyone else. There is something so magical about immersing yourself in a story, but if a hobby stops being enjoyable, take a step back and remember why you fell in love with it. That feeling when you’re reading a book and already can’t wait to tell everyone you know about it. The books that keep you up late at night because you’re desperate to read one more chapter. And the books that stay with you long after you finish them. Do your own thing. Whether you read 100 books a year or one, you’re still a reader 🀎 A little food for thought. #TheCosyChapters #ReadingIsntARace #ReadAtYourOwnPace #ForTheLoveOfReading #BookstagramUK by @thecosychapters
First book on my November TBR and I had to start with this one! πŸ‰πŸ€Ž I really hope I love it! As a girl who’s never read fantasy, I’m a little apprehensive, but I’m excited to give it a go. Will this be the start of a fantasy-filled library and a whole new obsession? πŸ“šπŸ‰ Can’t wait to give you my verdict! β˜•οΈ #FourthWing #RebeccaYarros #NovemberTBR #CurrentlyReading #FantasyNewbie #BookstagramUK #TheCosyChapters #BookishCommunity by @thecosychapters
NOVEMBER TBR β˜•οΈπŸ€Ž I’m doing things a little differently this month! As much as I love a thriller, I’ve decided to pick a book from each of these genres to mix up the month and broaden my literary horizons. Hopefully I’ll discover some new favourites along the way! πŸ“š πŸ”ͺ Thriller The Couple Next Door β€” Shari Lapena πŸ•°οΈ Historical fiction The Women β€” Kristin Hannah πŸ‰ Fantasy Fourth Wing β€” Rebecca Yarros πŸ”Ž Mystery/detective The Puppet Show β€” M. W. Craven (Washington Poe series) πŸ“– Literary fiction When the Cranes Fly South β€” Lisa RidzΓ©n πŸ’• Romance Yours Truly β€” Abby Jimenez πŸ–€ Dark romance Twisted Pawn β€” L. J. Shen I’m particularly excited (and slightly nervous!) to finally pick up Fourth Wing and take my first step into fantasy. You’ve convinced me to give it a go, so I’ll be taking you along with me! πŸ‰ No strict reading order, just picking up whichever takes my fancy next. Let’s see where November takes me! Have you read any of these? Which one should I start with? β˜•οΈπŸ€Ž #NovemberTBR #NovemberReads #TheCosyChapters #BookstagramUK #Bookstagram #ToBeRead #CosyReading #ReadingOutsideMyComfortZone #BookishCommunity #ReadersOfInstagram by @thecosychapters

October, you’ve been a good reading month πŸ‚β˜•οΈ Plenty of twists, a few mixed feelings and another reminder of why I love getting stuck into a good crime thriller 🀎 πŸ“– One Bad Deed | 5 cosy cups My standout this month! I love these characters, and reading this series feels like catching up with people I know. πŸ“– Count the Dead | 4 cosy cups Another brilliant read in the Detective Sheridan Holler seriesβ€”this series keeps me coming back for more! πŸ“– The Safe Room | 4 cosy cups An addictive popcorn thriller that I absolutely devoured! πŸ“– The Last to Drown | 3Β½ cosy cups An enjoyable read overall, although it wasn’t my favourite of the month. πŸ“– Her Last Breath | 3Β½ cosy cups Another thriller on my October reading pile, finishing with a solid three and a half cosy cups. πŸ“– The Witch | 3Β½ cosy cups Atmospheric and a little different from the usual Freidaβ€”the twist at the end earned it an extra half a cup! πŸ“– Sometimes I Lie | 3 cosy cups A slow start for me, but things picked up halfway through, and that ending had me searching Google! πŸ“– Missing in Flight | 2Β½ cosy cups A great start and an entertaining read, but I struggled with how far-fetched it became. Have you read any of these? What was your favourite book this month? I’d love a recommendation for my ever-growing TBR 🀎 #TheCosyChapters #OctoberWrapUp #OctoberReads #BookstagramUK #ThrillerBooks by @thecosychapters
One Bad Deed β€” T. M. Payne β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ | 5 cosy cups Swipe for my thoughts β†’ Something you might not know about me… I used to live in Liverpool! I spent three years living in Childwall and completely fell in love with the city. There’s something so enchanting about Liverpool, with all its history and the charm of its people. From visits to the docks and Sefton Park to days out on the Wirral, trips to Formby beach and fish and chips at Crosby beach… I have so many lovely memories! Recognising places in these books takes me straight back to my time there, which makes this series feel extra special. Liverpool will always hold a little piece of my heart 🀎 If you love a crime thriller, this series is for you! Although you could read this as a standalone, I’d start at the beginningβ€”you’ll get so much more from following the characters along the way. By now, picking up the next book feels like catching up with people I know! 🀎 I cannot wait for book six in April! πŸ“š Thank you, T. M. Payne, for another fantastic book! 🀎 Have you met Detective Sheridan Holler yet? #OneBadDeed #TMPayne #DetectiveSheridanHoller #CrimeThriller #BookReview #TheCosyChapters by @thecosychapters
First book vs favourite book πŸ“šπŸ’• There’s something special about the book that introduces you to an author… but sometimes another one comes along and steals the top spot πŸ‘€ Here are the first books I read by these authors, alongside the ones I’ve loved most so far ✨ Have you read any of these? And what’s your first vs favourite book by an author you love? Come book shopping with me… because apparently my TBR wasn’t big enough already πŸ“šπŸ›οΈ I spotted a few favourites along the way, including A Thousand Splendid Suns β€” a book that will always have my heart πŸ’› For my dark romance lovers, I also spotted the Edge of Darkness series. If you haven’t read it yet, I really recommend it! πŸ–€ I couldn’t resist picking up Sarah Morgan’s new Christmas book and A Married Little Christmas by Abby Jimenez for a little festive cheer πŸŽ„β€οΈ And finally… with a little help from my bookstagram friends and a unanimous decision, I am now the proud owner of FOURTH WING! πŸ‰πŸ“š As a fantasy newbie, I’m excited and slightly nervous to see what all the hype is about! I’ll be taking you along on my fantasy journey, so wish me luck 🀎✨ Have you read Fourth Wing? Let me know what you thoughtβ€”with no spoilers, please! πŸ‘€ #FourthWing #RebeccaYarros #FantasyNewbie #BookstagramUK #FantasyBooks #BookishFriends #TheCosyChapters by @thecosychapters
A little suspicion with your evening coffee? β˜•οΈ Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak is one I’ll always recommend if you like your thrillers with a creepy edge. The unsettling drawings throughout were my favourite partβ€”they added so much to the reading experience. One of my five cosy cup reads, and a perfect pick for these darker evenings 🀎 Do you enjoy a spooky element in your thrillers, or do you prefer something more grounded in reality? #HiddenPictures #JasonRekulak #ThrillerBooks #SpookyReads #BookstagramUK #TheCosyChapters by @thecosychapters
Books I’d sell my soul to read again… just to experience them for the first time πŸ€ŽπŸ“– I’d happily forget every page of these books and start again. Go in knowing nothing, fall in love with the characters and have my heart broken all over again. Some books stay with you long after you’ve finished, these are some of mine. If you could erase ONE book from your memory to read it for the first time again, which would you choose? β˜•οΈ Captured this gorgeous sunrise yesterday πŸŒ… #bookrecommendations #favouritebooks #booksthatstaywithyou #thecosychapters #sunrise #sunriseoftheday #sunriseofinstagram #historicalfiction #booklover #fivestarreads by @thecosychapters
