Here is a little story as to why I decided to set up my own online fashion business at the age of 50, with no previous fashion experience. Sometimes things don’t quite go to plan… but they turn out for the best! ✈️💄 I was flying out to Dubai to spend some time with my son and husband, who are both working out there. I had it all planned out — seven hours of uninterrupted work on the plane, laptop ready, and everything I needed in my cabin bag. Well… that was the plan 😂 As soon as I got out of the car at the airport, I realised I’d left my entire cabin bag at home. No laptop and, even worse, NO MAKE-UP! 🙈 So, I found myself shopping for a whole new make-up bag at the airport and trying products I wouldn’t normally buy. These are the six products that have got me through the week, and I can honestly say I absolutely love every single one of them! 💕 1. @lorealparis infallible fresh wear foundation with vitamin C. I bought this as it was on offer for only £2. I will definitely by this again. It’s a lovely texture and the colour 225 is perfect for me. 2. @charlottetilbury contour wand in Fair Clair. I have used this a few years ago, and no idea why I stopped. It has a lovely Sheen and is so easy to blend. 3. I have really dark eyes, so I like a light base. I usually. use @trinnylondon Eye2Eye in Justice. It is still. my favourite. It is a lovely creamy, pinky nude base. However, I tried to replace this with the @charlottetilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in champagne. Lovely, but a bit shiny. For daytime, but makes a lovely highlighter 4. My absolute favourite find was @lorealparis Lumi Liquid Blush in glowy true rose. It is more of a copper colour. than rose. I have used this as a blusher, an eyeshadow and a lipstick. This colour really makes blue eyes Pop. Totally love this. 5 . @charlottetilbury The Feline Flick liquid eyeliner pen. Love it! 6. @charlottetilbury Exagger Eyes Volume Mascara. I will definitely buy this again Have you ever discovered a new favourite beauty product completely by accident? #DubaiDiaries #MakeupFinds #BeautyFavourites #TravelDiaries #TryingSomethingNew MakeupRoutine by @thecotswoldshed
I seriously cannot get this song out of my head. My family keep telling me to shut up as I’m singing it non stop, without even knowing I’m doing it. And I cannot sing a note. 🫣. Last night I went to a shopping mall with my husband, saw a big empty walk way and just got the urge to do the dance. He just said what the hell are you doing ??? 😂😂😂. He’s not obviously on board with the viral dance. 🤭 Anyway, back to my grey and chocolate obsession. I am LOVING this combination! 🤎🩶 A crisp white shirt, gorgeous studded barrel-leg jeans, a cosy grey knitted waistcoat and those chocolate brown suede boots. (@massimodutti ) But can we just have a moment for THAT jacket?! The softest feel, a fabulous funnel neck and a drawstring waist that gives it such a gorgeous shape. #AutumnOutfit #ChocolateBrown #BarrelLegJeans #AutumnFashion #StyleOver40 StyleOver50 OutfitInspo EverydayStyle AutumnLayering FashionReels by @thecotswoldshed
Grey & brown… the colour combination you may not have tried. 🤎🩶 Two shades you might not think to put together, but I absolutely love how beautifully they work. I’ve styled this soft grey knitted co-ord with long brown boots, a chocolate brown suede bag and a gorgeous statement faux fur coat. It’s all about mixing textures, playing with neutral tones and creating an effortlessly chic look that feels both cosy and luxurious. Sometimes the most unexpected colour combinations make the best outfits! Would you wear grey and brown together? 🤎 #GreyAndBrown #NeutralStyle #AutumnWinterStyle #WinterOutfitInspo #EffortlessChic QuietLuxury Over40Style Over50Style ClassicStyle FashionInspiration KnitwearStyle WinterWardrobe by @thecotswoldshed
A bit of tailoring. 🤎 This is a different look for the brown faux leather trousers that I wore on yesterday’s post. I’ve paired them with this gorgeous edge-to-edge blazer and simply added a belt at the waist to create a more defined silhouette. Underneath is one of those wonderfully soft little jumpers that may look simple, but works so hard in your wardrobe. Available in lots of lovely colours, it’s the perfect weight for layering: cosy enough for cooler days, but light enough to keep everything feeling streamlined. I will link everything on stories and add to my October highlights. Bag and belt are from @amazonuk Lipstick is this great glossy twist up pen in the colour Raisin. #AutumnStyle #Over40Style #EverydayStyle #LeatherTrousers #AutumnOutfits EffortlessStyle by @thecotswoldshed
Autumn dressing is all about the layers and textures 🍂🤎 Faux leather trousers, a chunky oversized cable knit, a checked jacket and suede accessories… all my favourite pieces in one outfit! I love mixing leather, suede and cosy knits. It makes even the simplest outfit feel a little more put together without looking like you’ve tried too hard. An easy, everyday autumn look that I’d wear on repeat. Are you a fan of mixing textures? 🤎 #AutumnStyle #AutumnOutfits #Over40Style #EverydayStyle #OutfitInspiration AutumnFashion by @thecotswoldshed
🧡 THE RUGGAROBE 🧡SO many reasons to love it! Whether you’re a dog walker, a parent freezing on the sidelines, a cold-water swimmer or someone who loves camping, the @ruggarobe has got you covered! Here’s why I love this coat so much. ☔ 100% waterproof – perfect for our unpredictable British weather! 🧡 Super cosy fleece lining – keeps you lovely and warm, even on freezing cold days. 🙌 Clever hood design – angled away from your face so the rain doesn’t come pouring down in front of your eyes. Such a brilliant feature! 🏉 Perfect for sports – available in adult and children’s sizes, with plenty of room for the kids to get changed underneath after their matches and keep warm on the sidelines. You can even get the name of your sports team embroidered onto the Coat. 🐾 So versatile – from dog walks and beach trips to camping weekends and cold-water dips, you’ll find yourself reaching for it all the time! Practical, cosy and stylish too, with some gorgeous colour combinations! This coat is 3 years old now and it’s as good as new. The quality is brilliant. Please do not waste your money on supermarket ones. There is a reason that they are cheap. Honestly, once you’ve got one, you’ll wonder how you managed without it! #RuggaRobe #WaterproofCoat #DogWalkingEssentials #SidelineStyle #ColdWaterSwimming OutdoorLifestyle ChangingRobe BritishWeather by @thecotswoldshed

Autumn dressing is all about the layers. It’s probably my favourite season for fashion. 🍂 It’s all about cosy knits, statement coats, barrel jeans and boots on repeat. Here are 4 outfit ideas that you can probably recreate with pieces from your own wardrobe. Which look would you wear — 1, 2, 3 or 4? 🤎 Save for your next outfit inspiration. I will link everything in stories and save to my October highlights. #autumnfashion #outfitideas #affordablefashion Daily outfit inspiration, fashion over 40, simple style, minimal outfits, mum style, fashion stylist tips, realistic daily outfit ideas, Everyday style, Effortless outfits, Casual chic, Smart casual, Elevated basics, Real-life fashion, capsule wardrobe, Stylish and comfortable, Easy everyday outfits by @thecotswoldshed
Two ways I’m styling my brown fur gilet 🤎 I love how one piece can completely change an outfit. Keeping it tonal with chocolate brown layers, tailored shorts and knee-high boots, then switching it up with a checked midi skirt for a softer, more feminine look. It’s all about mixing textures and making the most of those autumn layers 🍂 Which look is your favourite, 1 or 2? #FurGilet #AutumnStyle #Over40Style #ChocolateBrownOutfit #afforɗablefashion Brown fur gilet, autumn outfit ideas, chocolate brown styling, faux fur layering, chic autumn fashion, effortless style, autumn wardrobe, how to style a fur gilet, by @thecotswoldshed
At the weekend I just fancied wearing something a bit more fun, with a splash of colour! I absolutely love this boho shawl collar cardigan. The gorgeous patterned knit, statement collar and fun fringing make it a little bit different from your usual cardigan. This is very designer inspired, but a fraction of the price. it’s so warm and snuggly and I actually got away with not wearing a coat with it. Sometimes you just need a bit of colour to brighten things up! 💗🩵 Are you sticking with neutrals this autumn or fancy mixing it up? #BohoStyle #BohoCardigan #AutumnStyle #AutumnOutfitIdeas #colourful fashion Boho fringe cardigan .
