Concert Diary 001 🎤 | Summer Walker | Crypto.com Arena | Los Angeles, CA

Was Summer Walker worth seeing live?

For me, absolutely. The mic was on, the show told a complete story, and she brought out 😭 @dojacat @sza Which was the cherry on top. But what helped to make the night memorable for me was my crew and Concert-Night Formula!

Here’s what works for me!

🏨 Stay close to the venue if your budget allows.

🍸 Make an actual dinner reservation instead of hoping you’ll find something nearby.

⏰ Give yourself more time than you think you need for dinner, photos + getting into the arena.

👠 If the outfit requires heels, have a walking/backup-shoe strategy. Your feet have no respect for the vision. 😭

📱 Charge your phone BEFORE leaving the hotel and bring a portable charger.

SAVE this for your next concert night in LA and tell me in the comments: who should be next on my concert calendar? 👀

Bingo with a BANG baby! 🪩😂🍸My first Modernism Week kicked off at Ethyl’s Place Mod Bingo inside Boozehounds. Listen THIS crowd understood the assignment!!! Bold fits, dance breaks, plenty of hootin and hollerin, and through it all THEEE QUEEN Ethylina Canne somehow, someway kept that boat afloat, honey! 🚢🤩

5 rounds played, over $3,000 in prizes won, 80 years of Tupperware celebrated, and a sold out event!

For your next Modernism Week itinerary: Look beyond the home tours and explore the evening programming, too. This particular event required a ticket; food and drinks were sold separately.

Bonus plot twist: my night ended with an appearance on NBC Palm Springs. 🤭📺

Thank you to @gedmagazine and @modernism_week for such a warm welcome, and @palmspringshello for the fab picture. A Thursday night very well spent. 💕

Media admission provided through Modernism Week.

The architecture is iconic. But what happens after dark? 👀🍸

For my first Modernism Week, I’m exploring the social side of Palm Springs: bold outfits, playful art, cocktails, and a very good reason to leave the house after work. 🤭

On the menu:
🪩 Thursday: mod bingo with Ethylina Canne at Boozehounds
🥂 Friday: a first look at the Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show
✈️ Saturday: SHAG’s “Par Avion” print release, cocktails, and live music

Swipe for the lineup, plus a couple of after-party options if you’re building your own weekend. Follow along in Stories as I take you beyond the architecture. ✨

Which night is your vibe?

Came for the design, but she stayed for the disco.🙂‍↕️🪩🥂

Friday night at Modernism Week was a whole itinerary, honestly! First stop: the Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show Preview Party for colorful art, vintage treasures, beautiful furniture, and conversations with the people behind it all.

Then we took the sparkle down the street to Spirit Animal inside Hotel Zoso for the 70s Disco afterparty, and honey DISCO WE DID! 🪩💃🏽✨

This is what I mean by Modernism Week After Dark: the art, the people, and the fun that keeps going beyond the home tours.

Meeting Atlas 🐾 and 👩🏻‍🎨 @raisa.artist were indeed the highlights of the night!

Three nights. Five events. Unforgettable memories.🍸✨

My first Modernism Week took me from drag bingo at Boozehounds to vintage design finds, disco at Spirit Animal, SHAG’s “Par Avion” reception, and a nightcap at the Amigo Room.

Somewhere between getting dressed and getting my bingo cards ready, I also ended up on NBC Palm Springs. Casual. 🤭📺

This is Modernism Week After Dark: Beyond the Architecture, through the eyes of The Cozy Gemini.

Come for the destination. Stay for the experience. 🪩

Which stop would you have joined me for?

Came to the deserts largest food festival for a little snack….Suddenly I’m emotionally invested in a hot dog eating contest. 😭🌭

Yum Food Fest, you’ve done it again! Already looking forward to next year. 😋 @yum_foodfest #fyp #yumfoodfest #hotdogeatingcontest #foodfestival #foodgram by @thecozygemini

Usually I’m focused on getting to my destination, but this Palm Springs → DC trip reminded me that the travel day can be half the fun! A prickly pear margarita on my Phoenix layover, breakfast & bottomless mimosas at the DC lounge, good food, and a little city exploring. ✈️
