Today’s energy was pure magic at our TK Member Masterclass led by the incredible Melissa Farrell, founder and owner of @thecreativepathnj 🎨💫

We all arrived carrying the weight of the world — and within minutes, Melissa had us creating, laughing, sharing, and connecting. 5 years ago today I left my full time job and officially became my own boss. It was a scary jump as I was solely following my intuition and left the safety net of a predictable paycheck and schedule. At that time I felt compelled to build something that I knew I was capable of building but also had no idea how being a business owner and having full control (and full responsibility) would aid me in what was coming in my life unbeknownst to me. We were full swing into the beginning of Covid and home schooling and being there for my kids was a full time job. Not long after that my life completely was turned upside down as I went through a divorce. Since that time I have been a single parent in every way shape and form and me owning my business has allowed me to juggle it all and be there for my kids in all the ways they need me-whether it’s showing up at games day and night, picking them up from school when the nurse calls and they are sick- again, doing last minute school projects with them, saying let’s go to the beach today last minute, making dinner in the middle of the day so I can work that evening, to sometimes having to flex my own schedule to be there to hold there hand or give them a hug and a heart felt talk on days when it’s been hard… owning a business is hard. Working for someone else and not being able to be there for your own kids is hard. I won’t say “choose your hard” because I know not everyone is in the position to just go and work for themselves, and I won’t pretend I didn’t bust my ass to make it to this spot either but I will acknowledge it is a privilege to be here, and god am I grateful. ❤️
