One week ago, we gathered in front of the red velvet curtains for our second Creative Room, Within the Fabric of Film. ⭐️

We spent the afternoon with Izzy Camilleri, Amanda Wong, and Jung Rocetes, hearing personal stories from their careers in fashion and film, what they’re looking forward to next, and, quite fittingly, the films that have inspired them most. 💙⭐️

It was a lovely afternoon of honest conversations, shared curiosity, and getting to know the people behind the work. There’s something special about bringing everyone together in such an intimate setting, and we’re grateful to have shared it with everyone who joined us at @theunitystudioto

She’s finding her voice in film while helping tell stories that feel honest, heartfelt, and human. 🎬✨

Jung Rocetes is an independent filmmaker and multidisciplinary creative working across video production, editing, writing, photography, and visual storytelling. Her work is especially drawn to uplifting AAPI, POC, queer, and women-centered narratives.

What we’re especially excited to hear from her is the perspective of someone navigating the early stages of a creative career in real time: learning across different roles, finding the right collaborators, developing confidence, and shaping a creative voice while still figuring out where you fit in the industry.

On Sunday, she joins The Creative Room for Within the Fabric of Film, bringing a filmmaker’s perspective on storytelling, collaboration, production, and what it actually takes to bring an idea from script to screen.

We’re so excited to have Jung joining us this Sunday! ☺️

Amanda Wong has spent her career across set and costume design, shaping environments, objects, and visual details that help define character before a single line is spoken. ⭐️

What we are especially excited to hear from her is the part we rarely get to see: what it’s actually like working on set, collaborating with directors and creative teams, balancing different ideas, and figuring out how to bring a visual world to life when the process is changing in real time.

On October 4, she joins The Creative Room for Within the Fabric of Film, bringing a perspective on production design, collaboration, and what it really takes to build a creative career behind the scenes.

EXCITING NEWS! 🎬 Within the Fabric of Film is moving to Unity Studio in the Junction, and we’re adding a screening of The Devil Wears Prada to our program! 🍿

In the spirit of TIFF 2026, The Creative Room is turning our attention to the intersection of fashion & film for an intimate afternoon featuring award-winning Canadian fashion and costume designer Izzy Camilleri. 👠

Across a career spanning nearly four decades, Izzy’s work has appeared in Vogue, Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar, and has been worn by cultural icons including Meryl Streep, David Bowie and Angelina Jolie. Her work featured on screen includes the iconic fur coat worn by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada.

We’ll be getting into how clothing becomes character, how fashion shapes visual storytelling, and what happens behind the scenes to bring those ideas to life. Then we’ll watch the film together, with popcorn in hand.

The afternoon will feature:

• An intimate conversation with @izzy.camilleri
• A moderated panel with special guests from fashion & film
• Live audience Q&A
• Time to connect with the speakers, fellow creatives and industry guests
• A screening of The Devil Wears Prada, with popcorn and refreshments
• More guest announcements to come 👀

Izzy Camilleri built a career across fashion, film, celebrity dressing, and design. Her work appeared in The Devil Wears Prada, and through IZ Adaptive, she became a pioneering voice in adaptive fashion, designing specifically with wheelchair users in mind.
