In the final clip of this 10-part series, @RobertGreeneOfficial talks about how technological advancement creates an illusion of progress towards a utopia of human betterment. In reality, social and traditional media confine people to echo-chambers and reinforce their confirmation bias. Only radical self-awareness and understanding of human nature's challenging aspects are the way towards true enlightenment.

“A lot of our (current) culture is about only showing your good site, only showing that you are a saint, only showing that bright, happy site. (...) And you are repressing three-quarters of what is really going on inside of you."

New clip from our #video #interview conducted by @milenaz.fisher: @RobertGreeneofficial talks about his view on how social interaction is necessary for the development of skills that allow us to productively function in society. He argues that the tendency to repress all negative emotions we feel makes us detached from the reality of others and of ourselves. Only opening up to what's dark allows us to move beyond it; the more we practice it, the better we adjust.

New clip from our #video #interview conducted by @milenaz.fisher: @RobertGreeneofficial questions the belief advocated by self-help industry that a person can dramatically change their character. He perceives fixed #character as a result of deep patterns of behavior that often escape the higher self's inspection and manipulation. In this clip, he elaborates on how one's undesirable behavior can be modified and how some negative traits contain a possibility of something very positive if one knows how to turn it around.

"You put a soul into anything you #create by the deep emotions you feel towards it."

In this video, the 6th of 10-part #video #interview conducted by @milenaz.fisher, @RobertGreeneofficial uses a #metaphor of a rider on a horse to explain what balance between the visceral and the #intellectual (aka the lower and the higher self) seems ideal for achieving the best #creative output. He expresses the view that whatever gets conceived without the right amount of deep emotional engagement will eventually be perceived as mercenary and "soulless."

“You can't become anything that you want - I'm sorry. That's not reality; let's wake up. You have limitations. (...) You have to know who you are (...) you need a lot of self-awareness and self-knowledge.”

This segment contains a short overview of one of @RobertGreeneofficial's most important tenets: overthrowing the popular fallacy that "you can become anyone you want to be" just by utilizing hours of practice. Talking to @milenaz.fisher Greene explains why he finds that type of advice naive, debilitating, and dangerous. Knowing and understanding one's limitations and strongholds is the key here. "Know thyself," as ancient Greeks told us. Practicing the wrong type of skills is a waste of time. Quality and intensity of focus while perfecting skills you naturally possess is far more fruitful than numerical, quantitative hours spent on a random project.

"We have no [rational] access to our #emotions.”

In the 4th clip from a 10-part #video #interview conducted by @milenaz.fisher, @robertgreeneofficial looks at how a deeper understanding of our rich emotional selves facilitates our growth as humans. Emotions impel to make #discoveries. But to achieve the higher self, we need to have more access to and distance from our emotional states; it is essential that we learn how to control them rather than let them control and consume us.
