The Story of Crush is about more than children’s books. It’s about resilience, following dreams, and the power of connection. 🧡

And the Story of Crush isn’t just our own…
✨ It’s a testament to the incredible people who rallied around us. Ian’s partner Nora joined our founder team, her friend became our Crush manager (Laura!), Silke’s neighbour composed the catchy songs, and her youngest daughter even sings on 3 of them! Friends help with IT, and Robbie’s mum is the amazing force behind getting your UK orders delivered! 🧡

We’re so lucky to be surrounded by such a supportive community, both within our team and with YOU, our incredible Instagram family!

And we couldn’t love it more.

Love,
Silke and all of the Crush Series Team

Get ready to ROAR, SLITHER and HOP! 🦁🦎 🐸 We’re going on an animal adventure with The Crush Series!

Did you know pretending to be our furry (and scaly!) friends does more than just burn off your kids’ energy? It’s a super fun way to boost gross motor skills, nail that coordination, and crush that body awareness! ⭐️
Plus, these animal movements help develop essential skills like balance, spatial awareness, and even problem-solving! Imagine your little one crawling like a crocodile, strengthening their core, or jumping like a kangaroo, improving their leg muscles and coordination. 🐊🦘🐧🐒

At The Crush Series, we believe in creating a childhood filled with imaginative play and learning. Our books and activities, like these animal movements, encourage kids to explore their world and develop crucial skills while having a blast!

So follow @thecrushserieskids into the world of Crush and let’s create a childhood together!

Meet a character from The Crush Series! 🐌 This is a sneak peek into the meticulous process of bringing Crush Snail to life. Hi, I am Silke Diehl, the illustrator (and one of the founders) of The Crush Series. 🧑🏻‍🎨

Today I’m starting a series introducing the 26 characters in our children’s book series – not necessarily in order of appearance, but rather in the order of their cheekiness! 😄

Did you know that each book in The Crush Series features five unique characters, each with distinct personalities and expressions? 🧐 We believe that these carefully crafted illustrations help young readers connect with the story and develop their own understanding through visual storytelling.

Let’s chat in the comments: What’s your favourite Crush character and why? 💬 Or is Crush Snail the first you come across? 👉🏼 Then follow @crushserieskids to meet the whole crew and find your favourite!

Love,
Silke and The Crush Series Team

We searched the house for bits that would match Kangaroo Crush, added a character page from Kangaroo Crush and a little creativity…

✂️ All you need are some wooden sticks or hoops, some yarn, and we found some dried eucalyptus leaves to add a touch of nature. 🍃 This simple DIY project is a fun way to bring your child’s favourite book to life and create a unique piece for your little one’s nursery.

Voilà!

But what to do when a child gets frustrated easily? 🧩🤔 😵‍💫

We recommend doing puzzles together, maybe try not getting out all the pieces at once but start with the pieces at the edge, and only then get out the pieces that go in the middle. If you casually do this every day, you’ll notice a real difference in your child’s patience and problem-solving skills. 🥰

And here are the benefits that you gain from puzzling:

🧩 Cognitive Development:
Puzzles challenge spatial reasoning, problem-solving skills, and fine motor skills.

🧩 Focus & Concentration:
Completing a puzzle requires sustained attention, helping kids develop focus and concentration.

🧩 Hand-Eye Coordination:
Placing puzzle pieces requires precise hand-eye coordination, which is essential for many skills.

🧩 Patience & Perseverance:
Puzzles teach children the importance of patience
and perseverance as they work towards completing
the puzzle.

Let us know if this tip worked for you!

At The Crush Series, we are rooting for front-facing shelves! 📔 They transform a book nook into a visual feast, encouraging children to explore, discover, and choose books based on their own interests. This sparks curiosity and fosters a lifelong love of reading. 📖🧡

And did you know that shelf is from @ikea, who actually make use of the principle of the front-facing shelf in their own showrooms…? 😉 It’s true!

Watch how this 7-year-old brought Frog Crush to life! 🐸🎨This amazing young artist created toothpick puppets for all the characters in Frog Crush and used her bedroom as a stage, with the book itself as the backdrop! 🧡

The Crush Series sparks creativity in the most wonderful ways, inspiring kids to come up with ideas we couldn’t have even imagined. 🖌️✂️
