Best thing I’ve done for my core is less crunching and more copenhagens!

If you are a “suck it in” girlie with a weak core and pelvic tilt start with your breathing and proper pressure.

How did you do? 👀

10/10? Amazing.
4–6? We’ve got some conversations to have.
0–3? This is exactly why I made this.

And NO, this isn’t about shaming anyone for what they don’t know.

Consider this a conversation starter.

Money. Insurance. Accounts. Retirement. What happens if something happens.

These shouldn’t be secret files one person in the marriage handles while the other says, “They take care of all that.”

Financial preparedness should be a normal household conversation.

Both people should know what exists, where it is, who to call, and what happens next.

Because the goal isn’t to expect the worst.

It’s to make sure you’re not trying to figure everything out during the worst. 🤍 by @thecrystalbaker

Respectfully, you do not need 47 more rib flare videos saved to a folder you’ll never open 😂

My $9 course cuts through the noise and gives you the FOUNDATION: get your ribs moving, get your core actually turning on, and retrain the way you breathe.

From someone who lived it, rebuilt it from the basics, and can now sneeze without peeing her pants. 💅

Your body is VERY good at compensating.

Maybe a little too good. 😂

Shoulders creeping toward your earrings.
Shoulders permanently rolled forward.
Shoulders yanked back because someone told you to “stand up straight” in 1997.

Do it long enough and eventually it doesn’t feel like you’re compensating anymore.

It just feels like you.

But muscles and fascia adapt to the positions we repeatedly hold. Certain muscles can stay overworked and tense while others aren’t contributing the way they should.

And over time, that can show up as:

Neck and trap tension.
Stiffness through the chest and upper back.
Limited shoulder mobility.
Difficulty getting your arms overhead without compensating somewhere else.
A shoulder blade that doesn’t move as freely as it should.
And potentially contributing to bigger mobility problems when other risk factors are present.

I’ve dealt with a frozen shoulder before, and one of the biggest things this whole body-retraining adventure has taught me is how many YEARS I spent bracing, gripping, pulling my shoulders back and generally trying to “hold” myself in good posture.

Meanwhile, neutral was apparently the position my body had forgotten existed. 🙃

The goal isn’t to aggressively force your shoulders DOWN AND BACK.

It’s giving your ribs, shoulder blades, muscles and nervous system enough mobility and strength that your shoulders can actually rest and move naturally.

Because somehow after decades of compensating…

doing less can be the hardest posture to learn. by @thecrystalbaker

Listen, I can balance a checkbook down to the PENNY 🤌🏻

Did anyone teach me how compound interest works?
How taxes impact my money?
How to make money actually grow?
How much retirement could cost?
How debt and interest can quietly eat me alive?

Absolutely not. But that checkbook was BALANCED. 💅🏼

The financial landscape keeps changing, which is exactly why financial literacy can’t stop with whatever we happened to learn in school 20+ years ago.

So I’m doing a little giveaway. 📚

Comment MONEY below and I’ll randomly choose one person to receive a copy of How Money Works on me.

No pitch. No catch. I just want more people learning how their money actually works.

Because apparently knowing how to write a check in cursive wasn’t enough preparation for adulthood.

*not affiliated with meta or instagram. This is a personal giveaway from me. Winner will be chosen on Sunday 9/13 by @thecrystalbaker

This is going to be hard to hear.

But life insurance isn’t really about you.

It’s about the people who are still here when you’re not.

Your income stops the day you die.
Their bills don’t.

The mortgage still gets drafted. Groceries still need to be bought. The lights still need to stay on. The kids still need everything they needed the day before.

Grief is heavy enough. Your family shouldn’t have to figure out how to financially survive it, too.

And if the only life insurance you have is whatever box you checked during work orientation years ago, it’s time to actually look at it.

Marriage. Babies. A new house. A raise. A career change. Growing kids.

Your life changes. Your coverage needs to keep up.

Already have a policy? I’m happy to review it with you.

If you’re properly protected, amazing.
If there’s a gap, let’s find it now instead of leaving it for your family to find later.

So yes, rib flare might be why you found me. 😂

But if you’ve ever wondered what I actually do in my “big girl job,” this is a pretty good introduction.

At the core of ALL of it, I’m an educator.

I believe people deserve to understand the things that affect their lives before they’re expected to make huge decisions about them.

So when it comes to your finances, my job is to help you understand things like:

💰 How to create a budget that actually works for your life
📈 How interest and compound growth work
⏳ How long it can take money to double
🛡️ What protection your family may need
🎓 Ways to prepare for your kids’ futures
🏡 How to prepare financially for the giant “what ifs” nobody really wants to talk about
🌱 And how all of these pieces can work together toward the future you actually want

And the education part is complimentary.

You don’t have to be wealthy.
You don’t have to understand investing.
You don’t have to have your financial life together before we talk.

We figure out where you are, where you want to go, what gaps may exist, and what options are available to you.

Because I would much rather you understand your options and make an educated decision than buy something simply because someone told you that you “need” it.

DM me “PREP” and I’ll reach out to book your complimentary Financial Needs Analysis. 🤍 by @thecrystalbaker

Sorry I have to be the one to tell you, but sucking in your stomach all day isn’t “good posture.”

Neither is clenching your abs like someone’s about to punch you 24/7.

Your body was designed to BREATHE + MOVE.

Comment COURSE if yours needs a little retraining too 😏 by @thecrystalbaker

🚨 PLOT TWIST: THE RIBS MAY NOT BE THE CRIMINAL.

They might just be hanging around the wrong crowd.

Jaw clenching.
Upper-ab gripping.
Shallow breathing.
Shoulders permanently on duty.
Pelvic position.
A pelvic floor that forgot how to let go.

For YEARS, I looked at my flared ribs like they were the problem that needed to be shoved, sucked and crunched back into place.

Turns out I needed to investigate the whole damn crime scene. 🔎

So my focus now isn’t forcing my ribs DOWN.

It’s FUNCTION.

Teaching my rib cage to actually expand and retract when I breathe.

Teaching my core to create pressure without gripping for dear life.

Getting my shoulders, serratus, diaphragm, pelvis and pelvic floor back on speaking terms.

And slowly retraining patterns my body has practiced for DECADES.

The evidence is starting to speak for itself. 👀

Better breathing.
Better movement.
Better core engagement.
Less tension.
And ribs that are finally learning they’re allowed to MOVE.

If you’re part of the Suck It In Squad and your ribs have been suspiciously involved in the scene…

Comment COURSE and I’ll send you the link with the things I’m focusing on to retrain mine.

We’re investigating FUNCTION over here. 🔎 by @thecrystalbaker
