D2DCon just added another powerhouse to the stage.

Tony Hawk is officially joining us as a keynote speaker.

He turned pro at 14 and spent the next two decades rewriting what was possible on a skateboard. In 1999, he landed the first documented 900 in competition — a trick people had spent more than a decade calling impossible.

But the board was only the beginning. He built Birdhouse, put his name on one of the best-selling video game franchises in history, and through The Skatepark Project has helped fund hundreds of public skateparks in communities that had none.

Nearly 40 years after turning pro, he's still building, still creating, still landing tricks most people half his age won't attempt.

The lesson:

Impossible is just something nobody's landed yet.

Get ready to hear Tony Hawk LIVE at D2DCon.

10 years ago, D2DCon didn’t exist. Neither did anything like it.

The idea? Born in the middle of the desert, on day two of a three-day fast, from a man who had never even attended a conference.

But what happened next is the story nobody’s heard.

Three years without turning a profit. Behind-the-scenes politics. And a humbling moment that changed everything Sam Taggart thought he knew about being the best in the D2D.

This is the side of D2DCon you’ve never seen.

For the first time, Sam Taggart tells the untold story of how it all began, what almost broke it, and what it took to build it.

THE UNTOLD STORY OF D2DCON is LIVE NOW on the D2D Experts YouTube channel.

Four excuses, and everyone uses at least one.

I don't have time — I'll do it when I retire, by which point your knees are gone and it isn't the same trip.

I don't have the money — he met someone who'd been to a hundred countries hitchhiking with none of it.

I don't have anyone to go with, which is a reason to invite someone rather than stay home.

I don't know how to start, which is the most honest one and the easiest to fix.

Here's the part that stings.

Those four aren't really about travel.

You're running the same four in your business, your relationships and your health.

It's one habit wearing four different costumes.

Which of the four is yours? by @thed2dcon

Everyone asks how to get to the top 1%.

The answer is deals multiplied by your commission percentage, which everyone already knows, and which has never once been the reason anybody is stuck.

The real question is who you'd have to become to be the person those numbers describe.

That's a harder question and it's the only one worth spending a year on.

Three days of exactly this.

School trained you backwards.

Lesson, then test, for eighteen straight years.

Real life runs the other way.

You get handed the test with no warning and work out the lesson somewhere on the other side of it.

Which is why waiting until you feel ready never works.

Ready is something the test gives you, not something you bring to it.

But experience on its own isn't the teacher either — plenty of people have had twenty years of the same year.

It's evaluated experience: the thing that happened, plus sitting down afterward and being honest about what it cost and what it taught.

What's the last thing you went through that you never actually sat down and evaluated? by @thed2dcon

People think this is a hype event.

Then they go home and their numbers move.

3 days of workshops on the approach, the objection, recruiting at scale, and the systems that actually run a company. Taught by people doing it right now, not consultants reading a slide.

Reps come back with a new opening. Owners come back with an org chart.

You know the name.

You might not know how many times he had to fall to earn it.

Tony Hawk got his first skateboard at nine. He turned pro at fourteen. By sixteen, he was widely considered the best skateboarder on earth.

Then in 1999, he landed the first 900 in history — a trick the sport had spent more than a decade calling impossible.

What came after is its own kind of legendary. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Birdhouse Skateboards. Hawk Clothing. 900 Films. An HBO documentary. A career that reshaped an entire industry.

And through The Skatepark Project, he's helped underserved communities build safe, inclusive skateparks for kids who had nowhere to ride.

But the resume isn't the reason he's on our stage.

Tony's story is about what happens when you commit to something everyone else has written off — and keep getting back up until you land it.

That's a message every door knocker understands.

Four things to find, and most people have never gone looking for a single one.

Yourself — not the version that performs well at work, the actual one.

Your vision, specific enough that you'd recognise it if you arrived.

Your tribe, the people who make a high standard feel normal instead of exhausting.

Your flow, the work that doesn't cost you what everything else costs you.

The key word is find.

It's active.

Nobody stumbles into any of them.

And after studying thousands of salespeople — the plateaus, the company switches, the sudden dips — the pattern underneath is nearly always the same.

They never went looking.

He rushed for 245 yards and two touchdowns in a half, at fifteen years old.

The press asked how he did it and he walked them through it play by play.

I cut inside. I spun off. I did this. I did that.

His coach pulled him aside afterward: you didn't block for yourself, you didn't hand the ball to yourself, and you definitely didn't throw the ball to yourself.

Monday, the coach called one play.

Handed him the ball.

And his entire offensive line simply lay down on the ground and let the defense hit him.

He got up saying: coach, I got it. I got it.

Hall of Famers on the D2DCon stage.

He spells it XPAND.

No E.

There's a reason for it.

Because there's no end.

Three pillars, and they run in a loop.

Expansion — you push past the edge of what you currently know how to do.

Experience — you stay there long enough for it to actually teach you something.

Expert — you get properly good, and it becomes your new normal.

Then it starts again.

It isn't a ladder with a top rung, it's a cyclone.

Most people run the loop once, get comfortable being an expert at one thing, and stop.

That's where every plateau comes from.
