So thankful for @golden.moments.photography for capturing photos of our family in our little townhome. Last night I sat in my recliner holding our sweet baby girl, crying, because what do you mean this short chapter doesn’t last forever? My husband and I will keep growing older, our baby girl will eventually make her way off to college, and our fur babies will turn old and gray. My heart aches with how time moves too quickly. We’re exhausted, but we’re blessed and happy. Today we welcomed one of life’s greatest blessings, our sweet baby boy Austin. He is perfect in every way. Handsome, wiggly and has that new baby smell. My wife snuggled him closely against her chest as he stared in awe at his beautiful mother as she looked down on him with adoration. He is so handsome. He was greeted by so many. β€œOh, so handsome he was told by so many of the nurses, doctors and staff.” The center of attention. Some would say he gets that from his daddy. A lot of people have reached out over the past 36 hours to get an update on our son. Austin Mateo Rangel was born at 1 am on 05/02/2025 at 7 lbs 15 oz with a height of approximately 20in at BWMC. He was brought into the world with so much love and happiness and is a very strong little boy. Stronger than anyone I know. It is with a really heavy heart to say that Austin’s road will be very difficult. Currently he is hanging out and being monitored at John’s Hopkins Hospital in the NICU. My wife and I would love to be open with all of you, just know that we are facing every parents worst nightmare right now and need privacy, prayers, and well wishes. We are so appreciative to have become parents and have shared a lot of beautiful and some very awful memories these past few hours. We’ve always been willing to share details of our life with social media and owe it to our friends and family to spread the news. With that being said, please be mindful to how sensitive and vulnerable we are at this time. Austin is a fighter and we are doing our best at this time to be strong and present for him and each other, while also recovering from child birth, and maneuvering through what feels like a brand new way of life for all of us.
