People ask me what it’s like cleaning the house with kids.

Imagine brushing your teeth while eating Oreos.

That’s the level of progress we’re making around here.

Every room I clean somehow gets dirtier. I don’t know where it comes from anymore. I’m starting to think my kids are just tiny raccoons with excellent negotiation skills.

I took the girls to @canadaswonderland because apparently parenting now includes willingly standing near 18 roller coasters while your children act like they pay the mortgage.
Between the rides, the snacks, Splash Works, and me pretending I’m emotionally available after a full day of theme park cardio, it was actually a perfect summer day.
The girls had the time of their lives. I had fries, questionable stamina, and several moments where I seriously considered lying down beside a stroller that wasn’t mine.
If you’re looking for a full family day out this summer, Canada’s Wonderland really does have something for everyone — big thrills, little thrills, water park, food, entertainment, and enough walking to count as both exercise and punishment.

A girl at the store told me I look young for my age.

Naturally, I was ready to accept my crown, call Vogue, and moisturize in slow motion.

Then she said, “I’d say early 50s… maybe late 40s.”

I’m 46.

Forty. Six.

So apparently I look incredible for someone who survived the Oregon Trail.

Anyway, I’ll be spending the rest of the day staring into a compact mirror and questioning every life choice since 1998.

I thought I was going to sip sparkling drinks and look cute on a farm.
