Strong > SkinnyâžĄïžMany women my age (I am 59) talk about how thin they want to be, how they want a smaller butt or waistline. This is a lens of fragility, frailty & often insecurity. Making the choice to build instead of shrink is a healthcare choice. I’ve witnessed far too many loved ones fall, break hips, need assistance, lose independence, & worse. Reflect on how it went for your loved ones. Do you feel like you’re heading in that direction? You can drop weight, pound away at boot camp classes, run your literal ass off, but are you STRONG? Can you lift your grandchildren? Your aging dog? Your suitcases into your SUV? This is where real training vs. random “workouts” pay off. If you are looking to get strong, message or call me. Let’s get you in the gym for sessions or set up a call to talk about having me build a progressive program for you to follow in your gym. I’m here for it all & passionate about guiding you safely & meeting you where you are now to get you where you want to be! by @thedanadifference
1st of 10 things & going with this trend. 2. Not just over 50! I work with all ages, but love to show my peers the power of getting strong. 3. Does this need a caption? 10. Ask my clients. Some of them forgot they started to train because things hurt & now just enjoy training & life with more freedom to move! by @thedanadifference
Elementary school students absolutely slay this version of Crazy Train on Xylophones! Did my best to sync the workout to the song. When traveling, I highly recommend seeking out people who love the same things you do! Connect, have fun, move, swing bells, grab a smoothie. Had a blast this week when I dropped in to @her_strength_studio in Latham, NY & hopped on a training sesh with @marykohearn . Thank you for welcoming me as a guest! Hugs, love & strength until next visit! Xoxo RIP @ozzyosbourne You Were a Legend by @thedanadifference
Our sweet baby girl is a Mrs.! Oct. 25 2026! First look. We love her so much! Toast! đŸ„‚ Daddy’s 1st look. Our little wildflower dances with daddy. They complete each other. Me & my forever. Me & “Mrs. Sara Maher” (my favorite middle child). by @thedanadifference
My middle baby’s getting married this Sunday. I’m not training to look great in my Mother of the Bride dress. So what on earth am I doing? I’m training to be strong enough to pick up her children one day if I’m lucky enough to become a grandmother in the foreseeable futuređŸ€žđŸ» Grandkids might weigh 7-12 pounds when first born, but they don’t stay that way for long so stay strong.😉 What are you training for? Comment below! by @thedanadifference
Let me know if you try it in the comments below! Also, I believe this should be kept in the fridge because of the raw egg whites! Enjoy! by @thedanadifference
Paraphrasing a real discovery call with a perspective client: Perspective client: “you mean you basically do the same thing every week?” Me: We find a safe entry point, adjust along the way, add accessories to address body “stuff” & adjust as we go. Then, we change it after a block of a given amount of weeks. Perspective client: “Oh, but doesn’t it get boring?” Me: “ Not if you like getting stronger & seeing results.” You can “workout” or you can “train”. Your body, your choice. Ok, bye. ✌Coach, D by @thedanadifference
True strength training isn’t a 20 minute workout in your local strip mall. They market building strong bones & muscles, but I’m calling BS. Things most likely missing from those so called training sessions: ✅True progressive overload ✅Force production & absorption ✅Foot & ankle work ✅Multiplanar movements ✅Rest between sets If you plan to invest your time & money to strengthen your muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments & all the other tissues requiring the same attention your teeth require (like brushing & flossing!) - think twice about where you deposit your time & money😉 Want to work on your stuff? I’m here in Boca with extremely limited spots available for people who are willing to invest 2 or more hours weekly. That’s the minimum effective dose to do it safely, properly & effectively. I promise - it pays off in dividends. Ask any of my clients - they’ll happily talk to you about their experience training with me. No AI workouts, no filters, what you see is what you get. No BS. Have a great day friends! by @thedanadifference
It’s likely you’ve updated everything in your life except the way you warm up for fitness & exercise. If you are still stretching your tight calves, hips & hamstrings like we did in the 1980s you might wanna ask yourself if those stretches are even working! These commonly tight areas could be sending out an 🆘 but you haven’t received the message! Sometimes stuff that’s tight is guarding, compensating for a weaker joint or muscle nearby, above or below, or just asking for a little strengthening. When you train with me, we’ll address these “tight” areas in a more up to date fashion. So if you’re struggling & feel stuck in the 80s - reach out. Let’s get you feeling more buttery & strong! Message or call to discuss your goals, needs & schedule! Here to help. Love & strength, Coach Dana 💙đŸ’ȘđŸ» by @thedanadifference
In January 2016 I bent over to tie my shoe during a post back surgery follow-up when the surgeon said, “you shouldn’t bend like that.” Also, “don’t lift or twist”
. EVER. At almost 49, I’d enjoyed group fitness & the gym, jogging & yoga so I was naturally aghast & left thinking “now what?”! My original cover/hook was “Why do good surgeons give bad advice?” I always want you to listen to your doctor, but simultaneously want you to see things through a different lens. What if he’d suggested we find a safe starting point, rebuilt capacity for movement & mobility, shored up weak links in my body & to explore nutrition & stress management options that support recovery. My appointment would’ve been encouraging vs. discouraging, instilled hope vs. fear & definitely have been thought provoking. The reality is a surgeon’s expertise is surgery. A PT, CSCS coach, or trainer’s is movement, strength training, proper load progression. An RD or Nutritionist’s field, well
Nutrition. Without sufficient education on the subject of training & nutrition most Surgeons & PCPs are unable to recommend the right prescription for either one so they give general advice. But, as with most things,“the dose makes the poison,” so the right Rx is key! If I’d literally stopped bending, twisting & lifting my body would be depleted of 10+ years of movement nourishment. I luckily doubled down & dove deep into workshops, books, & multiple educational resources to which I had access & now help people just like you move better, get strong & discover their capabilities! Your body’s literally built to move. It’s a system & requires regular movement nutrients, care & maintenance. Just like brushing & flossing – skip it and pay the price. If you feel lost or discouraged about starting, are hitting dead ends, getting back from a gym break & need help, let’s find your safe entry point & progress to places you never thought possible! Imagine where you could be a year by committing 2-3 hours weekly to moving your body & progressing safely without getting derailed! The possibilities are endless so message me to schedule sessions today! If only by @thedanadifference
Unlike when we danced our a**’s off to this song in the 1980s - back then we wanted smaller ones
now that’s progress! Couldn’t help myself. Just being silly 😂 by @thedanadifference
There are tons of great cues for a pull-up: drive your elbows to the ground, break the bar in half, snap a tree branch, accordion your stomach
but nothing tops my favorite: grab a giant handful of spaghetti (macaroni if you are a true Italian 😉) & imagine you want to break it in half to fit in a small pot of boiling water, but please
. don’t do that because of what our chef says in the video 😂 Hope this helps with your pull-ups! Let me know if it works for you! 🍝 by @thedanadifference
