23rd September 2026

3 Years today since my brother Carlton passed 🕊️
2 months today since Mummy passed away. 🕊️

I don’t even know which one I’m grieving for… all I know is pain. Real, deep, tangible, visceral pain. Void and emptiness. Sometimes it feels like just when I can genuinely smile again (and not just show up and compartmentalise) I get another hit. No time to really process losing my brother before Mummy joined him. I can’t believe its two months already and writing these words feels like somebody else’s story. But its real… everyday I’m reminded that it’s real.

Mummy - Flying to Jamaica was real.
Walking into an empty house was real
Going into your room and into stillness was real.
Seeing you laid out on the mortuary table was real
Making funeral arrangements was real
Going through your things was real
The funeral was real
Laying you in the ground next to Daddy was TOO MUCH.

People ask me all the time - how are you doing? Depending on the time of the day you may get a wide variety of answers… all true at that particular time. My emotions vary like the stock exchange. What was true at 12pm may be completely different at 12:02pm. Both are accurate readings.

I am hurt
I am angry
I am sad
I am numb…

Showing up is not an indication that I am healed. Its evidence that I’m still here. I don’t know what this new normal is going to look like - I just know that somethings changed. Either way, this is me.

That said, I am grateful to God that I had the time I had with each of you. I just wish that it didn’t have to end.

VIDEO: 📹 This was one of the songs that Mummy taught me to sing as a child. As you can see and hear, she has no discipline and like to ‘do her own thing’ and not stick to her melody….. I will miss this - but I will miss her more.

RIP Mummy 🌸♥️🌸🕊️
RIP Carlton 💙⚽️💙🕊️ by @thedanielthomasuk

Checking in…. 🙋🏽‍♂️

Still here…… ✅
