We wish you a merry Conemas! 🐶🎄Hoping you all have the best day with your favorite people and pups. We’re feeling extra thankful because little Dave is doing great recovering from his tumor surgery (all benign—yay!) and is actually getting his stitches out tomorrow. We’re so appreciative of all the kind words and love for our little guy, and we’re celebrating today with lots of snuggles and some dog ice cream. Sending love to you all! ❄️💗🐾

I’ve been so overwhelmed by the kind messages about Dave after I shared my Story yesterday. I can’t imagine what I’d do without this little guy and I have appreciated each and every message. 💜💜💜 We are waiting to hear results of Dave’s lab work, and I’ll keep you all posted. To recap, he’s going in for surgery next week to have two tumors removed. We know one of them is benign because we already had it tested. There’s another abnormal one that just showed up that we’ll get results on this week, so at this point we’re just waiting. 😕

Is there anything spookier? Happy Halloween to you all! 🎃 More pics of our actual costumes coming in Stories tonight! The pups have been enlisted to help out with our five-year-old’s mermaid costume this year. 🧜‍♀️ And I am going as an elephant to match our elephant-obsessed two-year-old, which should at least be warm! 😊 Have a safe and fun Howloween, friends!! 🎃🎃🎃

Lots of hiking for Liz, lots of napping by the fire for Dave. 🍁

Even though I grew up in Seattle, I’d never spent much time near Cle Elum, but we found an adorable dog-friendly/kid-friendly @airbnb over there that felt like the perfect escape from city life.

The kids loved collecting fall leaves and making s’mores, and the dogs had a great time exploring. And I got to see some larches! 🙌🏻

A few of our favorite stops on our trip:

🍁Swauk Forest Discovery Trail

🍁 Historic Downtown Roslyn, WA

🍁 Lake Cle Elum

What are your favorite dog-friendly spots in that area? Where should we go next time?

Did you miss these furry faces? We’re back to wish you the very happiest howlidays! 🥳🎄Little life update below from Heather 👇🏻

Hi friends, I’m so sorry for our long absence and I’m just now seeing how many kind and worried messages and comments you all have sent! We welcomed our second baby girl, Gemma, at the end of September and to be honest, it was a pretty traumatic delivery that unexpectedly got very scary very quickly. I’ll forever be grateful to the doctors and nurses who worked fast to save both of our lives and the privilege of having access to good healthcare. After going through that, though, I decided to take Insta off my phone for a bit and just spend as much time as possible holding our girls and pups close. The great news is that Gemma and I are both totally healthy now, and she’s an adorable, happy two-month-old. Some pics in our Stories. 😊 We’ll be catching up on everyone’s news and posts and DMs as fast as we can—I really mean it when I say I’ve missed you all. Wishing you all the warmest and happiest holiday week. 💜💜💜 by @thedapple_

Just a little photo dump of what we’ve been up to including escaping to one of our favorite places, @seabrookwa. ☀️🐾 We’re down to single digits in the week countdown before baby girl #2, so we’ve been trying to squeeze in as much time as we can enjoying summer days as a family of five before she gets here! I can hardly believe it’s so soon! 🥳🥳🥳 Also ICYMI, we added a new Favorite Things list that’s linked in our stories and in bio. 👌🏻 Happy Dogust, everyone! 💜💜💜

Our little dude turned six! 🥳🥳🥳 We made him a huge dog-friendly layer cake (recipe linked in bio!) and gave him a whole lot of snuggles and new squeaker toys. Here’s to many many more barkdays!! 🥳🍰

Look who’s excited that some new baby boots are coming to our house this fall… 🍼

Hiiii! It’s been a minute! We took an unplanned Insta and blog break because, well, we’re having another baby girl in early fall! 🥳 I wasn’t planning to take time off, but have been sooo 🤢 this time around that doing any kind of blogging or photography just didn’t happen. But I’m finally feeling more like myself and we’ve added a bunch of new posts on The Dapple, including a new Favorite Things Friday list, a birthday cake recipe, a summer shopping list, and a round-up of our fave Father’s Day cards for dog dads! (Link in bio!)

We’ve missed you all and are just beginning to catch up on all the news and posts we’ve missed these past few months. There are so many real friends on here after all these years that I really miss everyone when we take a break! Sending love from me, Dave and Lizzie. Happy weekend! 💜
